Captain Black No Stars and Rasta4eyes released a split CD on the excellent Do the Dog Records last year. The first 4 tracks are from Captain Black No Stars, who hail from King’s Lynn, UK. The band has a dirty reggae/ 2 tone sound and I’m not sure if I like them more than Rasta 4 Eyes. Both bands are decent though and worth checking out.

Surrogates stars Bruce Willis and is a sci-fi movie that came out in 2009. I still haven’t seen yet (even though its sitting on my DVD shelf). I’ll watch it eventually; the movie didn’t really get good reviews though. The movie revolves around a college student murder linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase un-flawed robotic versions of themselves. All righty.

Leverage is the hit TNT show starring Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf and others. The show is about a team of con-artists, thieves, computer experts as they right the wrongs in big business and government. I always thought the concept of the show was cool, but I never got around to watching it.

A Serious Man is one of the latest films from The Coen Brothers. It stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Sari Lennick, Fred Melamed, and Richard Kind. It’s about an ordinary man who is trying to find balance and understanding in the world. I haven’t seen the movie but I’m not sure I’m going to. It doesn’t seem like a movie I would enjoy. The Coen Brothers movies are hit or miss with me; sometimes I like them and sometimes I don’t.

20th Century Fox announced this morning that Avatar is coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray April 22nd. I think it’s safe to say that this will sell a few copies here and there. I can’t wait to watch this again, too bad 3D TVs aren’t really consumer-ready yet to watch this on but I’m sure there will be plenty of different versions of this movie out on video for years to come. I think this will be awesome to watch regardless of 3D or not. Can’t wait!

The Boondock Saints II: All Saint’s Day has become such a cult hit that Troy Duffy finally got to make his sequel….10 years later. He made this for the fans pretty much. The original movie wasn’t a hit from the start but over time became a huge cult classic among a dedicated fanbase. Now that the sequel is out, fans will either love it or think a sequel shouldn’t have been made in the first place. Me? I think it’s an entertaining flick that’s very flawed, just like the first movie. My advice is forget the hype, and expectations and should have fun with this one.
