The most disturbing movie ever made…hands down!. I should have waited to do “My Top 10 Scariest Movies of All Time” article. I should have watched this first, and then wrote it. But, then again, this movie is so intense, so horrifying, so gut wrenching, and so brutal…it deserves its own article.

Now, a lot of horror movies nowadays are lame. None of them disturb or scare me anymore, so when I say a movie is scary, amazing, or disturbing; you should definitely give it a watch! It took me some time to figure out which movies deserve to be on this list, if you do have any input feel free to comment or even e-mail me! Also note, this was extremely hard to write since I had to only pick 10 (yikes).

Since theres absolutely nothing on TV besides reruns and stupidity, I decided to poke around this bootleg TV/movie site and check out something I’ve never seen before…or maybe even a movie I wouldn’t dare waste a Netflix rental on.
I came across the show Gossip Girl. The site had the complete first season, all great quality, so I figured “why not see what the fuss is all about,” grabbed a glass of wine and clicked on the pilot episode. A few hours later, I realized I had just watched a few episodes of those oh so scandalous series. I was hooked. I was unbelievably hooked, and was sorry I judged the show before I started watching it.

The plot is simple. And to some of you gamers out there, Silent Hill-esque. A father is trying to get his autistic daughter out of the hospital, when all of a sudden, all hell breaks loose…literally. So it’s up to him and the few others left behind to figure out how to escape this hell and get out of the hospital alive. Pay attention while watching too….you may indeed miss some minor key points that will help you understand the ending. Oh, and Finnish heavy metal band Lordi star in it. Gwar like costumes and all (only their music is much better).

Starring: Kiefer Sutherland, Amy Smart
Written By: Alexandre Aja, Grgory Levasseur
Directed By: Alexandre Aja
I didn’t hear about this movie until about two weeks before it came out, but once I did, I couldn’t be more excited to see it. Kiefer Sutherland…in a horror movie?! This sounds amazing! The Red Band trailer was amazingly gory and the story was finally something that was a little different.
From director Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes remake, High Tention), Mirrors is a remake of a Korean horror flick called Into the Mirror (which I haven’t seen…yet). It’s finally a remake that isn’t at all cheesy or just plain awful. So I was pleasantly surprised. Then again, Aja did an amazing job on The Hills Have Eyes, so it’s not too surprising.
Former NYPD detective Ben Carson (Sutherland) gets a job working as a security guard at a burned down, once prestigious department store that’s in the works of being remodeled. After his first night of working, he soon discovers that this place isn’t what he expected. Mysterious hand prints on mirrors that he can’t seem to clean off, voices, and visions in the mirrors that aren’t there in reality.
Soon enough, the horror with the mirrors starts affecting his family. Starting with an extremely disturbing scene dealing with his sister, Angela (Smart) and a bathtub. I admit, I, one of the biggest horror fans out there, was a bit grossed out. Then continues with his wife and two children. And the scene to top all scenes…something I never thought I would see in a horror movie happened. Let’s just say I’m sure the born again Jesus freaks are going to shit themselves over this one.
The gore scenes are fantastically done. They’re disturbing, and I was certainly too scared to look at ANY mirror I came across after seeing this movie. The acting was great for a horror movie, and like I said before, the story was something nice and new for us horror fans to enjoy.
There’s SO much about this movie that I’d love to just keep talking about, but I don’t want to spoil anything for those of you who want to go see it. I will say, Kiefer just can’t get away from the whole Jack Bauer type role. The whole time I just kept thinking “So is THIS what Jack would do when faced with the paranormal?” But hey, that’s not a bad thing.
This movie is worth checking out. Especially if you’re a fan of Aja’s other two films. I loved it, and can’t wait until it’s on DVD!

Ahh…another visit to the lovely Middletown Psych Center. Once again we had EMF reader and cameras with us; but this time, we also brought a voice recorder and microphone.
Now, the night before we had went to the Psych Center briefly, and while walking around with the EMF reader, I had felt a warm “pressure” pushing down on my neck, and my friends EMF reader was bugging out when he stepped back from me a few feet. That was enough for me that night, and we had left.
The next night, we brought two more people with us. Same as last time, walked around some buildings, the EMF reader had went a little nutty a few times, but nothing too crazy. We decided to check out the hospital building last. The infamous building where I got “kicked” by something…
I had a bad feeling come over me as soon as we walked in the door. The one friend we brought was, unfortunately drunk and being loud, obnoxious, and just plain disrespectful. She was picking up signs and throwing them, being loud saying “come out ghosts hahhahahahahaha”. Everytime she did something stupid, the EMF reader would flip out. Going from 0%-100% in a matter of seconds. NEVER has the EMF reader freaked out outside.
Once we got in the car, we checked pictures, got a few GREAT orb shots, and then proceeded home. As I was in laying in bed, trying to sleep, my phone rang. It was my buddy Mike. While listening to the recordings, we did indeed catch something. Something weird. Something absolutely scary. I wouldn’t listen to it before I went to sleep…so the next day, he had put it up on our Ghost Hunting Myspace.

It sounds as if, whoever/whatever it is, is saying “can’t forget…can’t forget…” Listen. Leave what YOU think may be being said. We’ll be going back within in a few days to try and catch more. Add our Ghost Hunting Myspace to keep up to date on our findings! More blogs to come!
Wes Craven’s “A Nightmare On Elm Street” series…one of the BEST horror movie franchises, EVER. Even the sequels are entertaining, and each movie featured some of Hollywood’s biggest names of today (Johnny Depp making his debut, Patricia Arquette, Lawrence Fishbourne as well as many others). But, as I’m playing around on good ol Myspace today, and checking out some of the Horror Movie sites I have…I find out that Micheal Bay (Transformers, Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) is remaking the one movie that should never be remade. To make things worse…Freddy Kreugar himself, actor Robert Englund will not be reprising his role as Freddy. Why? WHY?
Knowing how things have been going nowadays with horror movies and their remakes, some big name Wrestling/Sports schmuck (Eli Manning perhaps? Or the wrestler John Cena) will be cast as Freddy. With no witty lines, not scary at all, and well, just plain annoying.
The series is perfect the way it is. There is NO need for a remake. The ONLY acceptable thing, would be a prequel. Show what happened to Freddy. Explain his back story, show the parents of his child victims enraged and burning him. Now THAT would be pretty interesting. If Micheal Bay is smart about this, that’s how he’d do it.
But, this is Hollywood folks. I’m hoping for the best…but, it’s a horror movie, so I’m expecting the worst. On a side note…they’re also remaking Friday the 13th. *sigh*.
Will an original flick EVER come out…? It hasn’t ALL been done before…
I’m sure you all know the 1934 Laurel and Hardy classic flick, March of the Wooden Soldiers (or…also known as Babes in Toy land). And well, if you don’t…watch the trailer :
here or read about it on here.
Ever since I was little, my mom used to make me watch this movie. Not only EVERY time it came on television, but also every time she decided to take the stupid VHS out of our movie collection. And every time I did watch it, I was horrified. Recently, the more I thought about the movie, the more and more it made sense that it should be remade…into a brutal gore fest of a horror movie. I mean come on, watching parts of it makes me think I’m watching a Rob Zombie music video. (Which brings me to who I think should direct/write the remake…oh yes folks…Mr. Rob Zombie THAT’S who!). Wooden soldiers being beheaded, toys in Toy land almost being raped by Bogeymen, and wooden soldiers BATTLING.
There is even a scene with the Three Little Pigs being tortured and chained up by the movies villain, Barnaby. It’s truly a disturbing and dark movie…and people don’t even notice it. To everyone, it’s a holiday classic. To me, it’s the perfect base for one disturbingly brilliant horror movie. I think my next article will be my own personal script with these lovely ideas. Any thoughts? Anyone want to help? Let’s try and make THIS idea a reality.
