The late great, Byron Lee and his band The Dragonaires were trend setters. Playing music that wasn’t typically popular, yet still performed with passion and developed into one of Jamaica’s finest bands. Byron Lee and The Dragonaires’ career spans the entire musical history of Jamaica to date and an anthology set like this, is important to have in any music fan’s collection.

Alborosie, hailing from Sicily Italy, emigrated to Jamaica to be closer to his Rastafarian beliefs, and with “Escape From Babylon To The Kingdom of Zion,” comes a collection of his previous two albums plus a few new tracks. Known for his controversial lyrics, Alborosie also has a unique style as it merges both contemporary reggae with traditional methods of reggae music. Featuring 18 tracks, this record is a good introduction to reggae fans regarding this controversial performer.

Joe Satriani is one of the Music’s Guitar Gods and by far is my favorite guitarist of all time, and now fans can check out this live DVD and CD of the Master jamming on the guitar with “Live in Paris: I Just Wanna Rock.” Mixed in with new and classic songs, Satriani always delivers an outstanding performance, unfortunately for this DVD, if you would like a Seizure or develop Motion Sickness, than you might want to stick with just the CD version.

It’s that time of year for everyone to reflect on 2009, and look back at what was great and what wasn’t. Now, it’s my turn. You may see some similarities in lists but whatever, I tried to switch it up. I didn’t get in depth as much as Bryan or Tom’s List but this is what I thought stood out for me in this roller coaster of a year. Have a look at my list, after the jump!

With the holidays fast approaching, I thought it would be a good idea to include some fun Holiday sitcoms that have aired recently and in the past that are currently featured on Hulu. There is not as many episodes as I thought there would be, but I’ve done my best to include some very funny shows. Check it out after the jump.

Band Link: The Levellers
Nearly three years has passed when I last saw The Levellers perform and it has been far too long. My wife and I traveled to London during the holidays, and of course planned part of the vacation so we can catch The Levellers play at our familiar London stomping ground, Shepherd’s Bush Empire. A great venue in West London, that has a fun vibe to it and powerful sound. As usual, The Levellers were outstanding and did not disappoint.
