I’ve been with TD BankNorth for a few years now, and have been going to the same bank now for over 10 years. When TD BankNorth took over the bank I was going to, they switched all the ATM/debit cards to these clear, green, thin ATM cards. The ATM/debit cards have free ATM charges at any bank and they will reimburse at the end of the month for all the charges you use. That’s really good and all, but what’s even worse is trying to pay for something and your card snaps!

Last year, I didn’t have the card break at all. In the last 4 months, I’ve had the card snap in half or crack at least 4 times! I don’t think it cost me anything to get a new one, but how inconvenient it is to have to go to the bank, order a new card, wait a week to get it, update all your billing info, forget one so that you get late fees notice (cable), update that billing info, etc. It’s really annoying and such a damn hassle to do this every month! Why can’t TD BankNorth go back to the old plastic card, the ones that don’t break every time you try to purchase something! Are they trying to be more environmental friendly by having less plastic or something? I don’t get it. I wrote an e-mail to the company today explaining what has been happening, let’s see if I get a response or not. I’m really pissed and feel like going to a new bank because of this. |
