I had so much food this week, I don't think I'm going to eat anything for awhile. Wednesday, everyone brought in food to work. So had a bunch of that stuff. Thursday, I went over to my girlfriend's parent's house and that was a good time. Had lots of turkey & stuffing, and quite a lot of pie. I think I ended up having 4 slices of pie that night. Hey, when people make pecan pie, I need to eat it okay! And Friday I had even more food & pie.
I took off Black Friday, since work never lets anyone have that day off for some odd reason. I decided to take my girlfriend up to my Grandparent's old house in Upstate NY (by Utica). Along with my Brother and his Wife Michelle; we headed up the NY State Thruway early Friday morning. It was already cold and flurrying in some spots. My girlfriend got freaked out because we drove by some Amish farmers. She's a city girl so that's why she was getting weirded out. What do you expect, we're in the middle of nowhere in NY state.
It was nice going up to my grandparent's old house because I haven't been there in over three years. My Mom and her Brothers and Sister own the house now since my grandparents have passed. I used to love driving the quad around the woods, or going ice skating up there. The pond wasn't frozen all the way so I couldn't goof around on the ice but I got to take the quad around for a spin or two. Most of my family were up there, spending the holiday together as well. Each year, we would make Christmas wreaths and wood deer and we still try to hold up that tradition. I always liked making the wood deer, but each year my deer seem to get smaller and smaller. They used to be almost life-like in size, and now they are small table ornament size. I'm not so good making the Xmas wreaths so I let my girlfriend make me one this year teehee. Another thing I like to do is take pictures around the yard and in the woods. I didn't get to go too deep in the forest (stupid hunters), but did manage to take some pictures. Some of those are below. Overall, this was an excellent Thanksgiving weekend!
