First entry...and to christen this momentous occasion I will start with a fairly recent piece.
Expect posted here, random stuff I feel like talking about or pics or even pieces from yours truly.
After writing this piece, I noticed that I use mirrors a lot as an element and yes there were a few times I've written about mirrors being broken or destroyed.
Never the less, it is a cool device I used on several occasions in my writing. It's like my phase in high school in which I often wrote pieces with characters smoking cigarettes. That used to be so bad ass.
Citizen Mirror
by Ray
Today reflections are banned. Worst news ever.
It was an announcement that cracked my ear drums in half.
Calling all citizens, destroy all mirrors, the voice inside said.
Only one thing to do but to push casually and to throw unemotional fits of spontaneous jagged on the floor.
Too bad that last night's announcement banned reflex.
And for good measure here is a much older piece from a few years back that demonstrates mirror madness.
I went into the bathroom to remove myself.
There was something about the party and loud noise that was disgusting and irrational at the same time. The room was a bubble, a fortress of solitude for however long I chose to stare into the mirror or lean over the toilet bowl to empty an empty gut.
I took one look at double vision, moving ceiling, and rotating floor.
I knew I was gone.
That blanket of paranoia was called too much alcohol.
So I removed it and covered myself with rage signaled by broken glass.
Jagged pieces of mirror everywhere and
all I could say to the host of this delightful evening was
sorry about the window.
Sorry about my friend.
