Rival Schools has signed with Photo Finish/Atlantic Records, the label run by Matt Galle. The album was recorded over the past year in Brooklyn NY at guitarist Ian Loves studio, with additional recording at Studio G with Joel Hamilton. The band will be at SXSW this weekend performing, and will be in Japan mid April.

New York City’s most unique concert venue, ROCKS OFF CONCERT CRUISE series will be launching its tenth anniversary afloat when it kicks off its season on the East and Hudson Rivers in April. Proving time and time again to be the best way to experience the NY Harbor, the Rocks Off Concert Cruise has been the home for some of the biggest and most memorable performances from some of the best bands over the last decade. “This was the most extraordinary concert we’ve done in New York since our first CBGB’s show,” commented Bad Brains’ guitarist Dr. Know about their June 2007 concert. The first acts for The Levellers’ excellent festival Beautiful Days have been announced! The festival will take place between August 20th – 22nd 2010 at Escot Park, Devon, England. Some of the notable bands playing this year include: James, Newton Faulkner, The Wailers, Levellers, Fairport Acoustic Convention, Billy Bragg, Slackers, Easy Star All-Stars, Citizen Fish, New Model Army, Aggrolites, The Alarm, Ned’s Atomic Dustbin and 3 Daft Monkeys. One of these years, I’d like to venture over to England for this festival, but who knows if I’ll ever make the plunge to do so. More bands and other news will be announced shortly. Piebald was perhaps one of the most beloved bands in the hardcore/ indie rock crossover genre. Starting out in 1994, the band released a ton of songs throughout their decorated career. Some of these songs are hard to find because most of the releases they appeared on are out of print now. Well, not anymore. Rise Records is pleased to announce the re-release of Piebald’s extensive back catalog.

On Saturday April 3rd 2010 I Scream Records will be recording & filming Life Of Agony’s performance at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium, the second show of their exclusive European “20 Years Strong” tour. In late 2009 the band performed their debut album “River Runs Red” in its entirety during a few exclusive, sold out, US shows and now, after popular demand, they’re also heading over to Europe to perform a set built around this amazing, legendary album.

Pearl Jam is playing Madison Square Garden again! This time I think I might get some tickets to see them live. They are band I always wanted to see live so I think now’s a good chance to do that. Especially when Band of Horses are opening! We’ll have ticket sale links when they are posted on TicketBastard. The band announced today that they will play Midwest and East Coast tour dates in May of 2010. The tour kicks-off on May 3rd at Sprint Center in Kansas City and wraps on May 21st at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Pearl Jam’s U.S. tour follows the band’s previously announced headlining appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation Festival on May 1st.
