15 years ago (February 1997), I created a cheesy looking e-zine on Geocities called Ska, Punk and Other Junk in my high school library. The ORIGINAL, might I add! Now you will see online radio stations and other sites ripping off the name. I had no idea what I was doing back then (still don’t), and just wanted to create a music site that I would review music and interview bands. I had no idea back then that I would still be doing this.

Gone To The Beach
You might have noticed a lack of updates on the site today. That’s because I’m currently in Florida. Today I flew into Fort Lauderdale, and tomorrow is off to the Florida Keys with the rest of my family. We’re celebrating my Dad’s 60th birthday so it should be a fun and relaxing time.

Heading to D.C. for the weekend

ReadJunk.com is taking a few days off, which starts tomorrow! I’ll be down in Washington, DC until Sunday-ish. I’ve never been there before and need to use up some vacation time…so DC it is! It was the least expensive option for me right now. I guess staying home would be too but that’s boring. The site won’t be updated (unless my lazy brother decides to update something), and besides, I don’t have free wifi anyway. Anyone know of a good location for that to check mail?

My Grandmother, Helen Kremkau passed away at the age of 92 on January 7th, 2010. Last few days, err..well a month or so have been hectic & emotional to say the least. You might have noticed a drop-off in updates lately and that’s the reason, well on top of the holidays as well. The site will be slowly kicking back into gear this week. Yes Yes Yes…I know, everyone hates becoming a fan of stuff on Facebook. I really hate it too but this time it’s for a good cause, I swear! ReadJunk.com has a new page for people to sign up for and become a fan of. ReadJunk.com had a “group” on there for discussions but I quickly found out that groups suck. For one, you can’t send RSS feeds updates to the group, but you can with a fan page. Go figure. So if you’re on Facebook, why not “become a fan” of ReadJunk.com and get real time updates.
