Strong entry from these UK veterans. This album finds them heading in a more serious, slightly darker direction, and moving away from their goofy skate punk roots. Whether or not that's a good thing depends on your predilection. (By the way, doesn't "predilection" sound like a dirty word?) Anyway, I found the album pretty good, as the moodiness is counterbalanced by appropriately placed vocal harmonies and fast-paced guitars and drums. Not an exceptional standout, but I'm not quick to ebay it. |
