I’m not really sure what to make of these guys. Overall, they sound like a decent alternarock band styled after the Pixies and Dinosaur Jr., with some Foo Fighters punch, but they slip in a lot of interesting and conflicting styles.

For instance, the high vocals range from classic rock to British invasion, and the guitars sometimes have that Pixies-ish psych/punk distortion, but they also burst into crisp riffs or doomy, bluesy Sabbath-like solos. Songs are either short and radio-friendly (with that 80s proto-grunge/punk twist), or slow and moody, but in a cool psych-rock and modern Britpop way.

Although the songs didn’t grab me, their sound is pretty interesting, and I listened to it through twice. I’m still not sure if they’re unique or a throwback to the pre-grunge age as recycled through Blur, The Music, and Radiohead, but I’m willing to hear more and hope they put out a full-length.
