I think this is supposed to be emo pop, but it sounds more like music for children. Like, if Sesame Street had musical guests. Oscar the Grouch would be like, "And speaking of garbage, heeeeere's.... THE SCENIC!" And then the Scenic would play with 4-year-olds bopping around.
Nothing wrong with children's music. I have a young nephew and we watch a lot of Dora the Explorer. They should get her to join the band. She'd add some street cred.
