Sixty Stories "Anthem Red"

Record Label: Smallman
Genre: Indie Pop
Buy on Amazon.com
Tight, melodic pop rock with a slight Get Up Kids-ish tinge, but it works really well. They're female fronted, but you almost can't tell -- what is up with Canadian vocals? The men sound like women; the women sound like men. The vox here are low and listless, and ordinarily that would be a turn off, but they actually sound good with the driving, poppy tunes.

The band throws in some random 80s synth bleeps and bloops, which has made all the lemming-like critics to call them the next Weezer, but the synth stuff doesn't occur much, and in any case, doesn't belong in their music anyway. Besides that half-assed attempt at novelty, Sixty Stories is a killer band that will appeal to fans of the poppy side of indie.
