The Gaslight Anthem hail from New Jersey but we won't hold that against them. They have only been together for 2 years and sound like they have been playing together for 10 years. It's kind of hard to put The Gaslight Anthem into one genre but I guess rock n roll with a blues influence? Who the hells knows, all I know is I like this band. Senor and the Queen is a 4 song EP, which is their second release after their debut “Sink or Swim.” They are releasing a new album out on Side One Dummy in August and I'm actually looking forward to reviewing that one now. It's hard to describe these songs, but I guess they remind me of a mixture of Hot Water Music and Against Me. But believe it or not, I actually like The Gaslight Anthem better than those bands. My favorite track on the EP, is actually the slowest song on the album, “Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts.” Is it a love song for The Boss? The song sort of reminds me of a Bruce Springsteen song. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy and don't know what the hell I'm talking about? Check out Gaslight Anthem if you haven't already, you might like this! |
