Willycranes "Domestic Disturbance"

Record Label: Punk Spark
Band Link: http://www.willycranes.com/
The mystery of the Willycranes continues. Who are these awesome high-octane rockers and where do they come from? Their press kit, a two-sentence letter, just tells me to listen and enjoy. The liners have some band pics but nothing else. I even had to google them to find a web site.

The web site also doesn't offer much in the way of facts, noting that the band is from Meatlake, Dickland. Now, I'm not sure about all those big square states in the middle of the country, but I don't think Dickland is one of them, although it might be the official nickname of Utah.

Probing more, I discover references to the "Aland Islands" and entries in the guestbook filled with only weird letters and umlauts. Wikipedia informs me that the Aland Islands is an actual place - a tiny archipelago in the Baltic Sea and an autonomous territory of Finland! They have a population of 27,153 - their entire country wouldn't even fill the first two levels at Shea Stadium.

But somehow this nowhere land spawned a rough n' tumble group that's better and more rockin' than the Motherfucking United States of America. Hang your punky mohawk in shame, Lady Liberty. Your oxidized copper ass has just been handed to you by a bunch of rural shitkickers whose country motto is "Islands of Peace."
