I wrote a thoughtful, if unpopular, review of X-Men 2 years ago. I'm still getting hate mail from narrow-minded idiots. Here's a ton.

From : Sarah
Subject : x-stupid
to the author of the article "X-men 2 is X-stupid",
I don't think you have done your research. And I know you said that you read the comics but clearly you did not.
1.)the movie does explain why Wolverine is in Alaska.
2.)Pierce Brosnan, was not even in the movie.
3.)you spelled "Mystique" wrong.
4.)Nightcrawler was not french, and I'm not sure how you thought he was.
Nightcrawler is clearly German(hence the accent), and if you really read the comic you would know that as well.
5.)Gambit. Also not french. He was from New Orleans. Down on the Bayou!!
6.)Also Billy, or Ice Man as you're calling him, does not have the power to kill Rogue. It's her power that prevents him from being able to make contact with her skin without dying or being seriously injured.
7.)Wolverine was created in a lab. His mutant power was his quick healing, and that is why he was able to live though the procedure of having the adimantium fused to his skeleton.
8.)Luci Lu was not in the movie at all.
9.)Sabertooth was not a chick..that one doesn't make sense...fuck ass
10.)Jean Grey doesn't not become "Firestar" she becomes Phoenix after she dies.
11.)Firestar is from a different series of X-men comics
12.)Just because Billy has Ice powers, it doesn't mean that he is ICE MAN
13.)Pyro Man, you're mixing up two comics there. PyroMan was in X-men, and The Human Torch was in Fantasitc 4. Both totally different people.
14.)It was pretty obvious that Toad died in the first movie. He was struck by lightning.
15.) your the biggest idiot ever.
You obviously NEVER read the comic or even watched the TV series. SO there ya go. You've just been shot down by a chick. I know my shit, and if you're gonna write a movie review maybe you should watch the movie first. You're the biggest fake that I know.
Sincerely,
Pissed off x-men fan

Alright. As a comic book nerd- you're review of X2 is WAY OFF. I don't know what movie you watched, but Pierce Brosnan, and Sabertooth were NOT in the movie! Sabertooth was clearly, well- portrayed by an ex-wrestler in the first one- as to which, the Magnificent Toad died. Nightcrawler clearly had a German accent, Jean did not cheat on Scott, Beast WAS in the movie (not blue, but not non-existent either), and Pyro WAS in X-Men! He was one of the Brotherhood! FREAK! You didn't even pick up any of the comic books!!! Jean Grey is NOT FIRESTAR! SHE IS PHOENIX! Get it right you dumbass! They haven't even shown the gameroom yet! By the way, they were in Canada you idiot.
The movie has been pretty good with reflecting the comic books. Get this letter to whoever it needs to go to, because either you, or they're a fucking idiot who needs to be put out of their misery. Why don't you hire a REAL comic book nerd. They'll give you the what for.
Fuck your review,

Hi Adamo,
I can't tell how old your Xmen 2 review is, but I just watched the flic, and work on site where they are just finishing shooting at the castle for Xmen 3. Halle Berry was here last night, but she had her clothes on :)
I have not read the comics, so leave that to your authority, but there are a couple of points in your review I thougt I'd comment on.
- Nightcrawler sounds German to me, not French
- the jail guard did not have bullets. The babe in the bar injected him with an iron solution, which Magneto sucked out of him and formed into pellets. Still far fetched...but imaginative :)
Lets hope X3 rocks!

Subject : x-men 2 review
Who ever wrote this x-men 2 review obviously didn't watch the movie.
1. pierce brosnan is not in the xmen 2 movie
2. Magneto doesn't steal bullets from a guard. Mystyk (Mystique) injects lead or mercury into the guard at the club the night before and when he goes to work the next day, magneto uses his magnetic powers to extract it.
3. That woman was never called sabertooth in the movie. Do you remember watching the first x-men movie? The giant hairy man that attacked wolverine and rogue while they were driving? That was sabertooth. The hot asian (Lady Deathstrike) was a woman who they did the same experiment with adamantium and she lived. she wasn't wolverine's arch nemesis
4. Beast was in the movie but it was before he was turned into beast.
5. Jean gray (Grey) didn't die at the end and she never even came close to becoming firestar. If you had watched it you would have sen that she turned into the pheonix while she was in the water and thats where they left it.
6. Don't know too much about night crawler
7. you gotta remember that all of the mutants developed their powers over time and iceman hasn't developed all his powers yet.
8. when you refer to fantastic four you're referring to johnny storm. There is a pyro in x-men and he does contro the flames that way
9.The room where xavier puts on the helmet is a super computer called cerebro. The game room is completely separate.
10. Ummm. toad died (most likely.. you know from the electricution and flying several hundred feet through the air and hitting the water) in the first movie so I don't blame him if he didn't make a cameo
Hey retard watch the movie before you write a review

Subject : mistakes...
I ran across this article/movie review and as a longtime X-Men comic book collector and enthusiast I am confused by a few of the comments:
1. "Some of the X-Men meet a new blue mutant named Nightcrawler who can travel through dimensions (which is VERY cool - excellent special effects!). Nightcrawler is probably my favorite character and almost redeemed the film, but they screwed up and made him French. (It was GAMBIT who was French, idiots!)."
You are only partially correct here. Nightcrawler is indeed a blue mutant but they did make him German in the movie. He doesn't travel through dimensions, rather he teleports (or translocates) himself. His name is Kurt Wagner (pronounced Vag-ner in the native German). And while Gambit did speak French he was originally from the Bayou and was Cajun.
2. 1) Sabertooth. I'm sorry, but I don't remember Sabertooth being a hot, busty Asian chick. In the movie, they have Wolvy's arch-nemesis be Lucy Lui with boob implants. What, they couldn't afford to put Vin Diesel in a fur coat?
Her name is Lady Deathstrike and was actually done a great disservice in the movie so on this point we are in agreement; she became a longtime foe of Wolverine during the mid-eighties for Marvel Comics and her relationship with Logan (Wolverine) went much further than what they portrayed in the movie. Sabertooth is indeed Wolverine's nemesis but we will see more of him in the next installment.
3. 2) No Beast. The Beast was an original X-Men, who was also in just about every single issue of the comic. Why was he not in the movie? Too many blue characters or something?
There have been so many changes to the "membership" of the X-Men it is hard to keep track of who was/is in X-Men. After the "New Genesis" Giant sized issue there were a number of changes. The original members also included Iceman but we won't point out all of the inconsistencies here. Suffice to say this could have done with some improvements; so again we are in agreement. Although to include all of the members would make for a messy story line at best.
4. 3) Jean Gray. They hinted throughout the movie that Jean Gray is really Firestar.
Actually it is Phoenix. And she develops this ability after the Beyonder hauls all of the super heroes and villains to his planet for a battle. It was quite a series I would take a look if you get the chance.
5. 6) Pyro Man. Now, I also remember that Pyro Man has to be totally flame in order to use his flame powers, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized -- PYRO MAN WASN'T EVEN IN THE X-MEN! He's from the Fantastic Four! WHAT THE FUCK! That is SO LAME. To make matters worse, they hint at the end that he's evil. Stan Lee, creator of the Fantastic Four, is rolling in his grave.
I am sorry but I can't let this one go. Pyro Man? Not certain who that is but in the comics it is Pyro and he is a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants that Magneto organizes and runs (along with Toad, Mystique, The Blob, Avalanche and a few others over the years). He doesn't have to be a flame to use his powers but he does have to have flame available to create and control the fire. Fantastic Four? You are thinking of the Human Torch. To my knowledge there never has been a character in either Marvel Comics or Movies with that name.
6. 7) Game Room. They turned the Game Room into this really cheesy observatory-type room where Dr. X puts on a helmet and can contact other mutants. Again, this is a fabricated thing by the director, used solely to move the film along. Weak, man.
Cerebro is actually what Professor Xavier is using and if by "Game Room" you mean the "Danger Room" then these are two different rooms used for two completely different purposes (in the comics and the movies).
I am not trying to pick a cyber fight here but I think as a self-proclaimed "hardcore X-Man fans like myself." You have some misinformation about the comic series and thus have made some erroneous comments in your review of the movie.
I hope I was able to clear up a few things for you.
With Best Regards, E

Subject: X-men 2 review @ readmag.com
I came across your X-Men 2 review at readmag.com as I was looking for some x-men pics on the internet. I know the movie came out a couple of years ago now (2003), but being an avid X-men fan and collector of the comic book for many years (though I must admit that I have not read one in over 7 years or so), I felt it important to correct you on a couple of points, especially since your review was out for anyone to read and you said that you were a "hardcore X-men" fan.
Obviously, you did not like the movie, which is fine... I was not crazy for it either. But you should have your facts straight before you start ranting about how bad the movie was and how the creators did not stick to the "true" storylines of the x-men.
Here are a few glaring errors in your review:
1. Nightcrawler was NOT french in the movie. He was crearly German. He spoke German. And He was German in the comic books. He was also quite religious. In fact, if I am not mistaken, he was a strong Catholic (or Lutheran). The only real "adaptation" were the tatoos.
2. Jean Gray was never Firestar. The movie did not hint at it either. Who she was... or actually who took her identity while she was healing in some cocoon thing, was PHEONIX. And in fact, in the comic book, everyone thought she was going to did in a crash from space. So the movie was not totally off. She will probably come back in the third installment with the Pheonix powers.
3. Gambit is not french, he's Cajun. There IS a big difference.
4. I don't even know who Pyro Man is? There is a character called Pyro. He was an Australian villain who could manipulate fire. He was not able to make fire (like the Human Torch, which is the person, I think you were referring to). Or, and the character from the movie was a kid X-Factor (being a comic book that included the original X-men - Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, ICe Man, & ArchAngel) picked up and tried to help him control his fire powers... but I'd have to do some back issue reading to remeber which one the movie was trying to "copy".
5. The room the Prof. X was using was Cerebro. That is in the comic, though I don't remember it looking like that. It was NOT the Game room. The Game room was the X-men's training facility.
6. As for the love triangle between Jean Gray, Cyclops and Wolverine... that did exist, though maybe not in the context shown in the movie. It was much more subtle in the comic book.
7. Wolverine discovering that he was created in some lab by Stryder, though is completely out of chronological order, when compared to the comic book... something like that was revealed in the comic books. Though I do not know the whole story, because most of it passed through the Wolverine series and not the X-men. (which I did not read).
I'll stop here.
I will agree that the movie did not do justice to the comic book. The movie seemed to pick and choose whichever characters to use, with no regard to the timeline in the comic book, but rather who would make for a more interesting story. However, having said that, it was interesting how they DID tie in a lot of ideas from the comic book.
All this to say, be careful how you review movies. If you don't like a movie, say why, but make sure it's backed with truth and not "perceived" truths.
Thanks and be blessed.
Uncanningly yours,
Boris L.

1) sabertooth is not in Xmen 2
2) beast is in the movie, in a small tv interview
3) jean gray is hinted to have survived in 2 scenes after her "dealth"
4) night crawler, not french
5) ice man, he has a point there, 1 out of 10 he tried to make.
6) pyro is in xmen comics, not the fantastic four's character he's thinking of. doesnt need to turn into fire, just control it, explained in the movie.
7) game room is not in the movie but its not what the author says is the circular room, thats cerebro.
8) toad wasn't all that much a big xmen villain so its fine he's not in the second movie.

If you would have paid attention at the end of the first movie you would of saw that the professor was tell wolverine about a military camp in Canada, and that was he was at the beginning of the second movie. Mystike changed into a really hot chick and slips the guard some pills for he'll pass out and then she injects liquid metal into he's blood stream and that's how magneto escaped.Nightcrawler was french in the movie you dumb fuck! he was German. Jean Grey doesn't cheat on cyclops with wolverine, it was mystike was changed into Jean Grey and tried to fuck wolverine. ice man never tried to bump rouge with a icicle without killing her. Ice man tried to kiss rouge without her powers killing him. Pyro never tells his parents he's a mutant, that was ice man. Now to tell you the stupid mistakes you mentioned about the other characters.
1. Sabertooth wasn't in x-men 2.
2. They mentioned in many interviews that beast would be in the third movie.
3. Jean grey isn't turning into firestar, she's turning into the dark phoenix.
Firestar is a whole other superhero. this statement tells me that you never actually read an x-men comic.
4. I have read many x-men comics and I can tell you that nightcrawler is a really religious catholic and I never read anything about archangel being religious.
5. Turning Ice man into ice would of been a really stupid looking effect, even though it's cool in the comic books.
6. Pyro doesn't ever turn into fire because he can only control the fire and not create it. Pyro isn't from fantastic four, the man in fantastic for is the humane torch and his powers are different kind of fire powers. also stan lee is still alive.
7. It's not the game room, It's called xerebro and he uses it to fined mutants not to contact them, he can do that with out helmet.
8. If you paid attention to the first movie you would of saw that toad dies.
You are one of the stupidest fucking assholes in the whole world. don't even bother seeing the third movie, because it probably be to difficult for your small mind to understand.
From: Pedro
Subject: Jeez dude... You are dumb!
You are so stupid. Why do you try to make critics about a movie that you dont know a fucking slice of it... I will explain your STUPID mistakes of critics.
Yes. You are sorry. Because you are ignorant...If you took a bit more of interest in the movie you would notice that wolverine didn't fight sabertooth in the second movie. (he did so in the first though). In the second movie "the sabertooth with boob implants" is actually Lady deathstrike. You would know this character if you were a bit into comic books (wolverine to be more expecific)
2) No Beast. The Beast was an original X-Men, who was also in just about every single issue of the comic. Why was he not in the movie? Too many blue characters or something?
Yes. It wouldnt be an interesting character to do.
3) Jean Gray. They hinted throughout the movie that Jean Gray is really Firestar (you would know what I mean if you read the comics), but at the end she dies without evolving! (Sorry for the spoiler.) What gives? The whole theater was like, "Oh shit, she's going to turn into Firestar now!" and you could hear the collective groan of disappointment when it didn't happen.
First... Its Jean Grey. Second... The secondary mutation of jean grey is the phoenix in case you are not aware. She doesnt die in the end. She will reborn again... Like the phoenix who returns from the ashes.
4) Nightcrawler. Like I said, he's not French in the comics, and he doesn't have all those weird tattoos on him. I also don't remember him being all religious (though it has been awhile since I read the comics). Wasn't it Archangel who's religious? I mean, it's not a big deal, but I'm sure it irritated many hardcore X-Man fans like myself.
And if you got some language skills you would understand that nightcrawler IS german in the movie... Not french. Idiot. And yes he was all religious. No... Archangel wasnt.
5) Ice Man. Okay, this was just a cheap way to get out of paying for more effects. Ice Man has to first TURN INTO ICE MAN before he can create ice! They have some Gap kid shooting frost everywhere and he's not even all ice, or riding his ice slide. Why they didn't put in the ice slide, Ice Man's mode of transportation, was obviously about money. Or maybe they just wanted to destroy the integrity of the comic even more.
No...He doesnt need to turn into ice man to create ice. Read more comic books if you may.
I laughed with this one. I noticed that YOU ARE SO LAME. I mean...You are a real idiot. Really stupid. Search on google 4 pyro...Marvel. I will show you an image of him: (sent image)
This pyro only manipulates the fire...He cannot create it... So it means that he cant turn into all fire form since he only manipulates the fire.
Oh...and the fantastic four pyro man's name is actually Human torch. You are stupid.
There are other sloppy mistakes, but I don't want to sound like too much of a comic dork. But I wanted to get across that this movie was not only boring and confusing, but factually incorrect. There were some good things, however. As I said, Nightcrawler (even with his silly accent) was very cool, and Mystyke is HOT! And Wolverine (played by Hugh Jackson) is exactly how you'd picture him, and he (deservedly) carries the picture. Dr. X (Patrick Stewart) is also convincing as the handicapped old man who can stop time, and the guy who plays Cyclops does a great Tom Cruise impression.
You are not... You are just plain stupid. The silly accent was german. In case you don't know was means what and nein means no. You cant spell Mystique right...Its not Mystyke... idiot...
I probably will see the third in the series, and hopefully it'll be a bit more loyal to the original storylines. I would also love to see some new faces in there, like Juggernut, the Sentiniels, and Bishop. And if Halle Berry is going to come back as Storm, she better get buck naked this time!

Subject: X-Men 2 is stupid
You've got everything wrong about X-Men 2.
1. Sabertooth was Logan's arch nemisis. That asian chick that you referred to is Jubilee.
2. Beast isn't in the movies because they couldn't work out the blue suit. And actually, he does make a cameo in X2. He's on the TV screen in the bar scene as Doctor Henry McCoy.
3. Jean Grey, they didn't hint at her as Firestar, they hinted at her as The Phoenix, which is what X3 is all about.
4. Nightcrawler isn't french in the movies or in the comics, he's German. He also was a very religious character. He did however, not have all the markings on him in the comics or TV show, instead, he was furry.
5. Ice Men didn't have to be completely ice in order to use his powers.
6. Pyro was an X-Man. The person your thinking about from Fantastic Four was the Human Torch also known as Bobby Storm. Also, Stan Lee is still alive and he makes cameo appearances in every one of his Marvel movies.
7. The Game room is it's own thing. The place where Professor Xavier goes to locate other mutants using Cerebro is underground. It wasn't just a cheesy thing the movie people used, it's actually in the comics.
8. Toad, while he was a great villian, is not the main villian the X-Men fight. It's Magneto, Mystique, Sinister, Juggernaut, and Apocalyspe with a few others thrown in.
The chances of Juggernaut being in the 3rd movie is slim, since it's centered on the Dark Phoenix. The Sentinels have a high possibility in being in the 3rd movie. I've heard that Halle Berry and James Marsden might not be back for X3. There are rumors of them bringing Beast and Gambit into the third one. There is also going to be a movie called Wolverine, of course starring Hugh Jackman.
Thanks for your time even though you probably didn't even read this.

Subject: Concerning a review of X-Men 2
Hey there,
Not sure why I'm emailing about this since it happened years ago, but I came across your review of x-men 2 and was bombarded by irrelevant references between the movie and the comic series.
Now, I couldn't find any links on your site to this review, and thank goodness. I'm an editor, and a comic book fan, especially the X based storylines and characters. You suggest being a comic book fan in your review and come across as an idiot when you make incorrect references in, what seems to be, a legitimate review. I don't mean to be rude about the "idiot" comparison, I'm not assuming you are, but on the internet, where all you got is text and a reader, you have to be careful what gets printed online.
I'm hoping or guessing as well that someone else has emailed you concerning the invalidating references your review gives about the movie. If not, I will point some out:
It's not "Firestar"... it's "Phoenix" or even more appropriately, "Dark Phoenix". "Firestar was a character from the 80s cartoon, "Spiderman and his Amazing Friends" and isn't even Jean Grey.
Sabertooth was in the first movie... how the heck do you mistake Sabertooth with Lucy Lou with implants??? That's Lady Deathstrike. If you don't know who she is, don't say you're a fan of the comic series.
Beast was in the first movie as Hank McCoy. He's being interviewed in a television in the background of a bar that Wolverine is at. Hank, as Beast, started as a human (no blue fur) and gradually gained the fur as he mutated.
Nightcrawler was European in the comics. I always assumed somewhere near Romania or the like. French might be far fetched, but having the accent is in his character. Gambit isn't French, he's American from New Orleans. And Angel is the religious guy, but Nightcrawler always had heart and who's to say it can't be because of religion.
I'll give you the Iceman slide bit. It probably WAS due to budget costs. He could also be developing as a mutant so they didn't bother making him fully ice.
Pyre Man??? Dude, it's just PYRO. And he can manipulate fire, not turn himself into fire. Notice he uses a zippo to get the initial flame? Also, HOMAN TOURCH is from Fantastic Four. Two different characters, Stan Lee would be rolling in the grave for hearing these blatant misuses of traditional Marvel iconic characters.
Game Room? DANGER ROOM. Also, Cerebro is a legitimate part of the Mansion and that room DOES specifically target mutant signatures... it's not there for the movie's sake.
Anyways, just a head up on your review. Next time you write a review based on pop culture lore, please do research and look stuff up on the net. I am writing this to suggest you pull the review down. You are not doing damage to the X-Men movie franchise with this, you are doing damage to READ Magazine reliability and authenticity. A true comic fan reading this review cringes at every paragraph. If they were going to subscribe, this is the kind of review that makes them find another publication to put their money into.
I hope this email is helpful and good luck with the publication!

I have to say, despite my urge to just ignore and move on, that the article posted at http://www.readmag.com/Reviews/xmen2.htm is so ridiculous, it goes beyond sane comprehension! I am not an avid comic reader, never have been, and thus have only limited knowledge of the history of the X-men comics. But even with that as the case, the author Adamo el Guapo is so far off on EVERYTHING (the story of the second X-Men movie which makes complete sense, the characters both in the film and from the comics, the actors, and his understanding of the Marvel Universe) that your site should remove the article immediately. It is an embarrassment, and were I able to reach the infamous el Guapo himself I would feel compelled to tell him the same. I am really shocked at how mistaken someone could be. I have no problem with his disdain for the film, but every single solitary point he made makes me wonder if he even saw the movie.
Again, I am sorry to vent to you, but as it is on your page I feel that you should be informed at how entirely bad the article is. I was simply looking for X-men images for my little cousin, and would have been happy to come and go without even reading the article, but the criticism peaked my interests, and after reading it, I simply could not close the window without saying something. My gosh...isn't there any quality control at readmag.com?
Good luck in the future, Josh
PS - I wouldn't trust anything el Guapo writes...ever. He obviously has a very limited comprehension of facts, life, storylines, etc. I don't know how he survives in the real world!

I am very disapointed about your thoughts on X-Men 2. It seems that you or any other editor didn't even pay attention to the movie. I'll tell you how Magneto really got out. Mystyke was flerting with the guard, then knocked him out. After that, she injected him with iron ( metalic mineral alot of us have as a trace-mineral). Magneto then sees the guard later on enter his cell. Magneto says to the guard "There is something different about you today...YES I CAN FEEL IT IN YOU" Magneto pulls the metal out of the guard and turns them into bullets allowing him to escape. You have to realize that they cant just put a huge role on nightcrawler, or even have beast, juggernut in it RIGHT AWAY. It has to be perfectly set as if X-Men 2 can be faded by the next movie, otherwise it'll be too hard to make X-3 more appealing. You do know X-Men 3 is coming out in 2006 right? Contact me for your thoughts so we can battle this BS out. Nothing but respect...

Adamo,
I'd just like to make a comment on you review on X-men 2. It would have to be the worst review I have ever seen on any movie. Everyone has their own opinion on whether a movie is good or not and I respect that. But your review was incorrect on so many details that I honestly felt embarassed for you while reading it. I have no time to list all the mistakes, but I suggest you re-edit the review or get it re-edited by someone who does know about Marvel comics. I am not a big Marvel fan, but even I wouldn't have made all the stupid mistakes that you did. Good luck on the edit. Regards.

Ummm, I know that you probably wrote your review for X-men 2 quite some time ago, but I couldn't help but notice that you either didn't watch the movie, don't know jack about the X-men, or you're a complete idiot. I'm sure you've heard all this before, again, this movie has been out for quite awhile and you shold have posted corrections by now, but you did not. That being the case, I'm going to dump some criticism on you.
First, Nightcrawler is GERMAN and he was being played as a GERMAN; complete with real German words and everything!
Second, Magneto did not use bullets to escape his plastic prison, he used powdered metal that had been injected into the guard by Mystique. Sheesh, did you fall asleep during the flick, or what?
Third, it was Iceman, not Pyro, that told his parents he was a mutant.
Fourth, it was Lady Deathstryke, not Sabertooth, that was the hot Asian. And it wasn't Lucy Liu. Dude, are you blind?
Jean Grey turns into Firestar??????? What rock did you live under all these years??? Jean Grey is PHOENIX!!!!!! And she does turn into Phoenix at the end of the film.
Nightcrawler: again, he was GERMAN in the comics and he was GERMAN in the movie. I do have to agree with you on the whole tattoo thing, though.
Iceman: No he does not need to turn into ice to use his powers. Did you even read an X-men comic?
Pyro: It's Pyro, not Pyro Man, dork. And, again, if you actually ever read an X-men comic you would know that Pyro only controls flame, he does not "flame on" like the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four.
Game Room: Uhhhhh, do you mean the Danger Room???????? That is another thing entirely. Prof. X was using Cerebro, his super computer.....duh.....
Toad: Who needs him? He was a nobody in the comic and he stunk in the movie.
Dude, please, if you ever review another movie, at least have the decency to actually watch the movie and know what the heck you're talking about.
Just my 2 cents, Scott

Subject: X-2 review
Hello there, good sir. I was browsing the net looking for referance pictures of a few X-Men, and happened to stumble upon your review. It was late, I was bored, and I read it. I can say that I enjoyed it, because your inaccuracy made me injure myself laughing. I find it halarious that a 13-year-old girl who dabbles in things before her time knows more about X-Men than you claim you do. I'll point out the mistakes for you, okay bumpkin?
1)"Meanwhile, Magneto (who is Mag-Neat-O!) escapes from his plastic prison by moving around these bullets that he steals from a guard. (Dude, why did the guard have bullets to begin with? He didn't have anything to shoot them with...)."
Okay, I'm not sure if you were paying attention here, but those spheres were not bullets. Magneto himself quotes "Perhaps too much iron in your blood". Maybe this is how you saw it:
Magneto: Perhaps you have too much iron in your blood.
Guard: No, good sir, those are bullets I got shot with last week. No idea why I'm still alive or anythin'.
2)"I'm sorry, but I don't remember Sabertooth being a hot, busty Asian chick. In the movie, they have Wolvy's arch-nemesis be Lucy Lui with boob implants."
...Okay...Who told you this woman was Sabertooth? Whoever did, go outside, find them, and shoot them full of lead. Why would Sabertooth have an atamantium skeleton? Oh yes, I forgot from the first one. You're not too observant, are you?
3)"They hinted throughout the movie that Jean Gray is really Firestar (you would know what I mean if you read the comics), but at the end she dies without evolving!"
....Aha...Ahahahahaha! I'm sorry, Mr. Spiderman and his amazing friends but that's Phoenix you're thinkin' of. And, uh, hi? That whole sequence at the end with the phoenix flying through the water? Oh. Silly me, still forgetting.
4)"Like I said, he's not French in the comics, and he doesn't have all those weird tattoos on him. I also don't remember him being all religious (though it has been awhile since I read the comics). Wasn't it Archangel who's religious?"
No, sir, Archangel was the spoiled rich brat. Nightcrawler was indeed a studying priest. And how many French accents have you heard? I'd recognize an attractive German accent anywhere.
5)"Now, I also remember that Pyro Man has to be totally flame in order to use his flame powers, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized -- PYRO MAN WASN'T EVEN IN THE X-MEN! He's from the Fantastic Four!"
Okay, not only did you get the damn name wrong, once again you give evidence that you are indeed completely stupid. Does Storm need to be IN a storm to use her powers? I give you the ice man covering himself in ice bit, but come freakin' on.
6)"Again, this is a fabricated thing by the director, used solely to move the film along. Weak, man."
Exscuse me if I'm new to the movie business, but I thought moving the film along was a good thing.
7)"Everyone's favorite villain from the first movie doesn't even make a cameo here. It's as if he never even existed. BAD continuity in storytelling."
...Yes he does. Were you paying attention at the beginning? God, you're hopeless.
8)"And if Halle Berry is going to come back as Storm, she better get buck naked this time!"
For that, you just deserve a severe asswhooping you sexist creep.
This has been an analysis by none other than your friendly neighbourhood Marvel fan. Stay safe, and toodle loo!

dear sir/madam,
i'm sorry but i stumbled across your site, and read Adamo el Guapo's review of x-men 2. Has to be the worst review i've ever read. It was totally unprofessional and it was like he had'nt even watched the first film. He ignored continuity and obviously had not paid attention during the film. For exampel getting characters such as Lady Deathstrike confused with Sabertooth (how???). He often complained that Nightcrawler was French (and said he was english in the comics) when in the film he was in fact German and was in fact German in the comics. Sorry to be so negative but this guy's article was terrible! How could you publish it?

just so you know what im talking about.
your review was of the worst i have ever read. you call yourself a fan and you have all your facts mixed up.
1. if you watched xmen 1 you would have seen xavier tell wolverine north is where he might find some answers hence alaska.
2. xavier dont have stopping time powers. he is telekenetic and has mind control.
3. magneto didnt get out via bullets, if you watched earlier in this same movie it showed mystique sticking a guard with a needle full of iron pellets small enough not to be detected.
4. nightcrawler asnt french but did have an accent. and the tattoos he also did have and he was also religous.
5. sabretooth wasnt the chick that was lady deathstrike hence the adamantiam fingers.
6. beast was there but still as hank mccoy the human.
7. jean grey and "firestar" who the hell is firestar. i think you mean phoenix.
8. and at the end it did show the phoenix flowing through the water hint hint.
9. ice man didnt have to turn all ice to use his powers. he wasnt even all ice when he first came out. also this is still high school before his powers fully develope.
10. pyro man is actually just pyro and is not from fantastic four that is torch. pyro is really from xmen and was good then went bad. and he doesnt flame on either he only controls fire exactly the way themovieportrays.
11. what the hell is a game room. its called cerebro and it did exist. not fabricated.
12. toad- you take a lightning strike on your tongue and see how fast you come back for more. duh!!
I HAVE NEVER SEEN A REVIEW SO MISGUIDED AND WRONG. IT IS A SAD SAD SAD DAY WHEN A SUPPOSED FAN GETS ALL THESE THINGS SO MESSED UP AND THEN BLASTS THE INTERNET ABOUT IT. i suggest before you write another review you watch the movie about 10 times and take notes through out the movie so that you may know a little about what your talking about.

Did you even watch this movie? Did you even read the comics? You made sooooooo many mistakes it's not really funny. Fist Woverine wasn't wandering around Alaska for noreason He was wanering around Canada because PROF.(not DR) Xavier told him to start there to find out about his past. One mutant attacked the president. Nightcrawler, who says MANY times througout the movie "In the Munich cricus i was called the Incredable Nightcrawler"(munich is in germany not france). Magneto doesn't steal bullets from a gaurd. Mystique injects metal into the guard so Magneto can use it to escape. Jean Grey never cheated on Cyclops with Wolvering, Mystique took on Jeans form to trick Wolverine.Ice Man (bobby Drake) was the one telling his parents he was a mutant....remember the cup of tea...if u watched the movie, he froze the cup...not lit it on fire. BTW its Stryker not Stryder. The hot busty asian chick was Deathstryke not sabertooth. Sabertooth was in the first one...as a big hairy, mean, MALE. Hank McCoy AKA Beast, does make a cameo but not as a main charactor. Jean Gray isn't Firestar..she becomes The Pheonix. It happends at the end of the movie...Pay attention and you will see that when she is stopping the water and lifting the plane, she becomes engulfed in red flames. What did you think the red flamelike stuff around her was? Nightcrawler is extrememly religious and covered in angelic runes in any X-Men comic I ever read. And thats a lot. IceMan Never actually has to cover him self in ice, i's just armor. The Ice slide would have been hard to manage for someone just learning about his powers. Pyro Man? Oh you must mean PYRO. Pyro is faithful to his comic counterpart, leaving the X-Men for the brotherhood. Jonny Storm AKA Human Torch is a member of the Fantastic Four, and makes no appearance in X-2.Game room? You must mean the DANGER ROOM. The room Prof. X "puts on a helmet and can contact other mutants." is called Cerebro, and is in almost evry comic I've ever read.Toad was taken care of in the end of the first movie. There are more mistakes but i dont want to seem like too much of a comic dork. If the movies were more like the comics why would any one go? Why dont you even mention the fact that Rogue was a mamber of the brotherhood befor joining the X-men, or Nightcrawler is Mystique's son? You really should know what you're talking about befor you post it. Maybe you should see the movie before you write a review.

Hello, I just read your article on how X2 is stupid and I just wanted to correct you on a couple of things. First of all, Sabertooth was not played by Lucy Lui; he was played by a man named Tyler Mane. Second of all, Sabertooth did not even appear in X2, he was only in the first movie. The only Asian chick that appeared in X2 was Kelly Hu and she played Deathstrike. If you're going to bash a movie, at least get your facts straight first.

Pyro didn't tell his parents that he was a mutant; his parents didn't even appear in the movie. It was Ice Man that told his parents about him being a mutant. Geez, pay a little more attention when and if you see X3.

Hi I just wanted to make a remark on your page about X-Men2.
First off they did not portray Nightcrawler to be french. He does state that he is from Germany. He does say some german words in the movie.
About Pyro. the house that he is in is not his but Bobbys. They do not even mention Pyros family
Sabortooth was not in this movie. The asian chick is a completly different. Sabortooth was knocked out of the statue of liberty in the first movie. That chick was Mariko. aka Lady Deathstrike
I agree with you on Beast. He was first in the comics but they are bringing him in on the 3rd x-men. (yes i have seen the trailer)
Jean Gray does not turn into Firestar. Again two different people. Jean turns into Phoenix. Everyone knows that.
The Game Room as you call it is really Cyrebro. They tore down the one at the mancon and but it again to target mutans so Dr. X could kill them.
And finaly Storm fried Toad in the first one.
In the 3rd one all the normal characters are in it. I just wanted to clear things up that I saw that you made a mistake on.
Yours Truely

Though I agree with the overall assertion that the movie was inadequate and disloyal to the comic, there were so many factual errors in the review that I wondered if the reviewer was doing their algebra homework while they were watching the movie. First, the president was NOT played by Pierce Brosnan, next professor X can't stop time, he can only affect the minds of people therefore stopping them. Next, Magneto doesn't escape from prison by "moving around these bullets", there was a considerable amount of screen time put into elucidating how Mystique (NOT Mystyke get a spellchecker) injected an inebriated guard with iron shavings to hide the metal inside his body. Gambit wasn't french, he was cajun. Jean Gray doesn't cheat on cyclops, it was the shapeshifter Mystique. Ice man wasn't worried about killing rouge, he needed to be worried about what happens to himself if he touches her. Wolverine wasn't created in a lab. He was only imbued with his claws and metal skeleton there. Pyro Man wasn't the one who was worried about telling his parents he was a mutant, that was Ice Man. Sabertooth wasn't a hot, busty Asian chick. That was deathstrike. Jean Gray was NOT hinted to be firestarter, she was Phoenix. Although it's true that Pyro Man was part of the F Four, there WAS a character in the X-Men universe who could only control fire, not create it, as in the movie. He claims that the game room was "turned the Game Room into this really cheesy observatory-type room where Dr. X puts on a helmet and can contact other mutants" First of all, it's not the game room, it's the danger room. Second, the movie wasn't trying to depict the danger room, they were going for cerebro, a machine that enhances prof. X's power. Don't worry, your reviewer won't be confused with a comic book dork anytime soon.

Helpful hints for reviewing a movie.
1. Watch the movie.
2. Pay attention.
3. Don't claim to be an expert on the source material and then misspell names, confuse histories, and in all other ways display your complete ignorance of the subject.
4. Pay attention to who the actors are and how to spell their names (secret: read the credits).
5. Pull your head out of your ass.
Like this movie or not, at least get the facts straight before publishing your incompetence publicly. If this review was meant to be a joke, try making it evoke laughter instead of sighs of disgust at your lack of knowledge and talent.
(Emailed 5 minutes later)
I see that you call it a "fake review," but I don't think I buy it. It is neither funny, it doesn't really even draw out comic book nerds, since anyone, even comic-book ignorants like myself, who saw 5 minutes of the movie knows that this review is tripe. You're creative comments to each one, usually "You're stupid," further demonstrate how funny you wish you could be, but just aren't. Keep trying, however, I am sure there are enough people in this world with IQs similar to your own who value mindless ramblings as good entertainment.

For starters pyro is working for Magneto in the comics
Stan lee is still alive and involved in the movie, how else did he get on the making of ?
Who the heck is firestar? Her name is pheonix!
Cerebro and the training room(game room) are two different things.
Although I like wolverine just like you, most comic fanatics say he is nothing like him.
P.S. These movies have very little to do with the comix so don't count on X3

Just this phrase alone is embarassing. Pyro Man does not need to be a total flame to use flame powers. Also, he WAS in X-men, the Human Torch was in Fantastic Four. Lastly, just for further embarassment ... Stan Lee is not dead and so he could not possibly be rolling his grave.

Subject: About X-2
I just read your review on X-2 : X-Men United, and I must say that it was the most un-educated steaming pile of shit that I have wasted my time on in years. Did you actually watch the movie? Or did you just see random scenes and act like you were into it? For starters, the name "Pyro Man" doesn't even exist! His name is Pyro, and he became a member of the brotherhood (X-Men fanatics know Pyro). Johnny Storm is THE HUMAN TORCH. Different backgrounds, different powers there genious. Gambit was Cajun, not French. Nightcrawler is German, and Catholic. Jean Grey turns into Phoenix, not firestar. And Lady Deathstrike was very much in the comics, dumbass. The guy whom assisted in Magneto's escape didn't have bullets (yet another scene you missed from lack of attention), he was injected with iron, which was flowing through his bloodstream when Magneto ripped it from his body and altered it's form. " There are other sloppy mistakes, but I don't want to sound like too much of a comic dork." Trust me, I haven't read many of the comics at all and I know more about it than you do, obviously. You will have to do a lot of studying to consider yourself a comic dork. You sound like one of those people who bought the comics just to see the cool artwork. Because it's obvious you pay absolutely no attention to detail what so ever. There are many more things that I could point out, but I'm sure that I have made my point on the topic, which is (and I quote this) "If you ever waste my time with another outburst of sheer ignorance like that I will start a petition to have your site shut down!!"

To whom it may concern:
I am a fan of the X-men movies and comics. I have read that article for X-Men 2 and I must say that every single thing he said was not true. He didn't not give a very good review of the movie. He may have watched it but he must have not been paying attention. I could write a better review than this. First of all, the characters names are not right and he didn't even know all the actors that were part of the movie. I am appalled at the language that I saw when reading it and the references to sex.
Here are some the mistakes the author made: first of all, Wolverine was in Canada to find answers about his past, when he arrived at the alkali base, he didnt find anything so he went back to the X-Mansion. B/c he had nowhere else to go and he wanted to get more answers from Prof. X. Second, the Pierce Brosnan was not the president in this movie. Magneto did not escape from the plastic prison using bullets from the guard, Mystique injected a ton of iron into his veins. Which magneto extracted from his veins and made three iron balls which he then used to break out. Another thing is that, "Magneto, along with his blue sidekick babe Mystyke." It's misspelled her name is Mystique!! Then Nightcrawler in the movie had a German accent not a french one and Nightcrawler was a Catholic priest. Oh, and FYI Gambit was from New Orleans not France. The President's Aide is named Stryker not Stryder! Ice man is not trying to have sex with Rogue, he is trying to have a normal relationship with her like making out. Also, its Pyro not Pyro Man and The Human Torch was from Fantastic Four. Pyro worked for Magneto that's why "they hint at the end that he's evil." Yeah another thing is Ice Man was the one trying to tell his parents he was a mutant, not Pyro. Then there's Lady Deathstrike, not Sabertooth, who was not played by Lucy Lui but by Kelly Hu. Jean Grey does not turn into Firestar she's Phoenix!! At the end she doesnt die, her powers are evolving. Ice Man doesn't have to turn into ice or ride around on his "ice slide." The Game Room was not in this movie, the room u are talking about is Cerebro which they had in the first movie. Where Prof. X could track mutants. And sorry to burst ur bubble but Toad is not everyone's favorite villain. Besides in the first X-Men movie, Toad was electrocuted by Storm at the end. Wolverine is not played by Hugh Jackson, he is played by Hugh Jackman. I was disappointed when I read this at the end of the review: "And if Halle Berry is going to come back as Storm, she better get buck naked this time!" Finally, the thing that makes me laugh the most is that he calls himself a "hardcore fan." Thats just sad. I think that next time he should research more when writing a review.

Subject: X-Men 2 is X-STUPID! by Adamo el Guapo
Dear Adam,
I read your "review" of X-Men 2 and I have a couple things to ask you about it.
You State:
1) Sabertooth. I'm sorry, but I don't remember Sabertooth being a
hot, busty Asian chick. In the movie, they have Wolvy's arch-nemesis be Lucy Lui with boob implants. What, they couldn't afford to put Vin Diesel in a fur coat?
Sabertooth was in the first X-Men movie. Did you even watch it? Her name is Lady Deathstrike, and in the Wolverine comic books, she is a major villian.
2) No Beast. The Beast was an original X-Men, who was also in just about every single issue of the comic. Why was he not in the movie? Too many blue characters or something?
Angel or Archangel was an original X-Men member too and he wasn't in the movie, but you wouldn't know that unless you read the comics.
Firestar?!?! Do you mean Phoenix? Jean Grey turned into the Phoenix. I have read the comics and I have no idea what your talking about when you say Jean Grey is really Firestar. Angelica Jones is Firestar.
You're right about something, Nightcrawler's not French. He's German. But he is extremely religious, in fact I think he almost became a preist. How can you call yourself a "Hardcore" X-Men fan? I'm not even a "hardcore" X-Men fan and I know more then you do about them.
Hey, remember how you were talking about the original X-Men? Guess who was an original member. Iceman.
Pyro not Pyro Man was in the X-Men comics. You're thinking or The Human Torch. Pyro can only control fire, he cannot create it or be "totally flame."
7) Game Room. They turned the Game Room into this really cheesy
observatory-type room where Dr. X puts on a helmet and can contact other mutants. Again, this is a fabricated thing by the director, used solely to move the film along. Weak, man.
You mean the Danger Room. The Danger Room hasn't been in the movies yet. Cerebro, has. Cerebro is in the movies, not the "Game Room."
8) Toad. Everyone's favorite villain from the first movie doesn't even make a cameo here. It's as if he never even existed. BAD continuity in storytelling.
Sabertooth didn't appear in this film either. But I guess you forgot about that. BAD review. Toad was struck by lightning, for all we know he could be dead in the films.
Just to be on the safe side, I'm gonna go back and hyperlink all these to the Wikipedia pages about them. I might be wrong about something, but then again I don't claim to be a "Hardcore" fan like yourself.
