The Feel Good Record of the Year was just released on Fat Wreck Chords. How do you think this album came out, and how would you rank it among your other albums?
It’s best or second best. I love it. I love playing the songs live more so than other records. Keep them confused kind of sucked.

I am baffled by your suckiness. Could you please explain it to me in lay terms?
Color me offended! We only practice once a week. Sometimes not even that much, because Calvin plays in an actually good band (myspace.com/wtg) and Cakes and Nate play in marching band, which means we have to give up practice every once in a while. We're all prepubescent. Those are the only reasons I can think of.

Tell me about your nerdy band.
Joel (guitar/vox): We are the perfect combination of sloppy, poppy, and crappy.
Dave Ninja (bass): I'll just throw out some key words/phrases that tell our history and help with our metadata: 1993, santa cruz, first ep, secret center sessions, 1995 sacramento, bananas tour, hat nerd ep, boner, 3 cds, this interview.
Jay (drums): Every dollar we get goes into the pipe.

I'm a big fan of polka, mainly Jimmy Sturr. Do you guys play polka like Jimmy Sturr?
We actually play Post-Polka, which as you know, means we still use the accordion but we stay scene by all wearing girl jeans and eyeliner. Oh, and the cookie monster grumble singing, can’t forget that!

Your songs are so magical. If your music could cast a spell, what would it be?
The entire world would smile and be a happier place. And you could get a parking space in Hoboken.

By popular demand, this is the exclusive 2005 Read Magazine Interview with the formerly incarcerated arch criminal and political crusader, The Hamburglar. The Hamburglar talks about Hamburger addiction, hatred for clowns, sibling rivalry, and...
Don't mention it, besides, I need a break from the courts. My cell mates tell me my backhand leaves much to be desired. I’d like to start by maintaining my innocence and utter disdain to all those who abused their power to place me in confinement.

The Loved Ones have a name and upbeat pop punk sound that fills the listener with warm fuzzies, good humor, and hope for a better tomorrow. Adam Coozer sat down with the band to find out why they're so beloved. Their unloving answers may shock you.

Portland is many things to many people. To some, it is a city. To others, it is a place where you can live out your dreams and still eke out an existence. And to even others, it is an interstellar landing strip for moon kiwis. But that latter...

What I had hoped would be a romantic evening turned into a band interview when I sat down with Colin, bassist and co-singer of The Challenged. In a neighborhood populated by hipster wannabes with vacant stares and fake heroin addictions,...
