As you all know, this is the remake of the classic '78 Romero film, and boy was I impressed. Not only was this the best remake of a movie I've ever seen, but it was probably one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. With elements of horror, dark comedy, and even some drama this movie has it all and made me want to see it again and again.

The movie begins with Ana (indie actress Sarah Polley) having a not so fun encounter with not one but 2 zombies in her home. Now, I don't want to give to

o much away so I'll do this review as best as I can. After she just barely escapes her neighborhood (think 28 Days Later's London on crack) she meets up with a few fellow survivors and they take cover in the local mall. Things only get worse from here. And that's where I'll stop talking about the plot itself. It's alot like the original, only with ALOT more blood and gore, the zombies are faster and nastier, and this movie is just absolutely relentless.

I haven't had so much fun watching a movie in a long time, this is what horror is. This movie, along with the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, has given me faith in horror remakes. Let's hope they keep them coming. The makeup for the zombies was absolutely phenominal, my god did they look scary and just plain disgusting. I can't wait for the DVD to see all of the behind the scenes features on this one.

I think the thing I loved most about this movie was how similar it was to the Resident Evil games (NOT the movie). I'm a big fan, ok more like dork, when it comes to those games, and if you're just like me then you HAVE TO see this movie and you'll freak out just like I did.

If you love your scary movies gory, funny, scary, and just plain fun then this one will NOT let you down, so take my advice and go see it for yourself. Like I said before I don't want to ruin it for anyone.
