'Dark Knight' star Morgan Freeman injured in car crash
Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman has been injured in a serious car accident in Mississippi Sunday night, according to published reports.
The "Dark Knight" star was in a one-car crash about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, according to celebrity Web site TMZ.
The accident happened in the vicinity of Batesville, Miss.
The 71-year-old actor had to be airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn. His condition was not immediately known but he was talking to state troopers after the wreck, the Web site said.
An unidentified female companion was also injured in the wreck. It was unclear whether alcohol was a factor in the incident.
