February 4, 2008 – New York/London – MTV announced BAD BRAINS will be the latest artist to appear on the coveted MTV's 52/52 Bands program starting February 4, 2008. Past artists of MTV 52 Bands have been Against Me, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Alicia Keys, among others.
Interviews, performances, and other expose items on the band's legendary rise will appear on MTV proper. The band's latest album is the critically-acclaimed Build A Nation on Megaforce/Oscilloscope Records.
The first video off of Build A Nation was directed by System Of A Down's Shavo. The concept captures punk and reggae. Thus, the main punk video "Give Thanks And Praises" merges into the dub reggae of "Jah Love."
Considered by some to be the "holy grail" of punk rock, Bad brains are one of the definitive American punk groups who garner the same respect as Sex Pistols, Black Flag, The Ramones and The Clash. Produced by long time fan, Adam Yauch (MCA of the Beastie Boys), Build A Nation is the Bad Brains return to form for the band that helped define American Punk and Hardcore music. The album features all the original members of the group: HR, Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Earl Hudson. |
