Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Fans of hardcore juggernauts Black Flag have plenty of reason to rejoice in 2013. There is a lot of activity coming from many former members of the band. Not just one, but 2 line-ups of the band are reuniting.

Greg Ginn, guitarist and sole mainstay through all Black Flag line-ups, has teamed up with former singer Ron Reyes to reunite as Black Flag. Ron Reyes originally sang for Black Flag between 1979 and 1980 during the band’s ‘Jealous Again’-era. Rounding out the line-up is Gregory Moore on drums and ‘Dale Nixon’ on bass. Dale Nixon was a pseudonym that Ginn used for the band’s 1984 album ‘My War’ where he played bass so it will be interesting to see who they get to tour with them. The band has 3 confirmed dates at Hevy Fest in the UK, Ruhrpott Rodeo in Hunxe, Germany, and the Muddy Roots Music Festival in Tennessee. It is said though that this reformation of Black Flag will tour extensively in the US and abroad. Members have also confirmed that this group is putting the finishing touches on a new record.

The second group includes a line-up that recently got together in 2011 for promoter Goldenvoice’s 30 the anniversary show. The outfit has billed themselves as Flag and includes original members singer Keith Morris (Circle Jerks, OFF!), bassist Chuck Dukowski (SWA), and drummer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Only Crime). The line-up is rounded out by guitarist Stephen Egerton (Descendents, All). The band currently only has a scattering of dates confirmed, including the annual Punk Rock Bowling Tournament.

According to their Facebook page, the band is, “working up a repertoire of 30 classic Black Flag songs with an eye toward future live performances.
