Music legend Bob Dylan is to present a weekly radio show in the US, the first time he has hosted a radio show.
The 64-year-old's hour-long show will air from next March on the Deep Tracks Channel, part of the XM satellite radio service in the US.

"A lot of my own songs have been played on the radio, but this is the first time I've ever been on the other side of the mic," said Dylan.

ZM is a subscription-only digital radio network with more than 160 channels.

The network said Bob Dylan's show would feature "an eclectic mix of music hand-selected by Dylan".

The radio show will also include interviews and commentary. Chief creative officer Lee Abrams said: "Bob Dylan epitomises the American music experience and his unflagging integrity and vision defines everything we hope for XM to be."

In a statement, Dylan added: "It'll be as exciting for me as it is for XM."

'World changing'

Bob Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman in Duluth, Minnesota.

He has recorded more than 40 albums since achieving fame as a folk-protest singer/songwriter in the 1960s.

In August, his song Like a Rolling Stone topped an Uncut magazine poll of music, film, TV and books that "changed the world".

Rolling Stone magazine named the song the greatest rock 'n' roll song of all time in November 2004.

Other hit singles include Times They Are A-Changin' and Subterranean Homesick Blues.
