Cult icons CELTIC FROST make their much-anticipated return to the U.S. tonight to join the legendary Type O Negative and labelmates Brand New Sin for a month-long tour. This trek follows last year's massive 47-date headlining North American tour, which was also the group's first Stateside trek in over 17 years, in support of Monotheist, their highly acclaimed new album.
CELTIC FORST's new album was produced by the band and co-produced by Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy, Dimmu Borgir, Immortal). An extremely dark, inventive, and radically heavy release, the album features monolithic, droning doom anthems that rival the primitive massiveness of Hellhammer as well as the aforementioned gloomy experimental side witnessed on Into The Pandemonium. Doubtlessly, Monotheist is CELTIC FROST's most sinister album yet.
