Keeping with tradition, Colin Meloy is grabbing an armful of guitars and is heading out on a short solo tour of the continental United States. He will undoubtedly be playing Decemberists songs, new and old, as well as original songs that never quite made it. Hopefully, provided he isn't too distracted, he'll be able to measure his grandfather-at-the-cooking-sherry banter with a few brand new, unheard Decemberists songs as well. Dates are as follows:

01.18 Seattle, WA: Showbox
01.19 Portland, OR: Aladdin Theatre
01.20 San Francisco, CA: Great American Music Hall
01.21 Los Angeles, CA: El Rey
01.23 Chicago, IL: Park West
01.25 Boston, MA: Paradise
01.26 New York, NY: Town Hall
01.27: Philadelphia, PA: TLA
01.28: Alexandria, VA: Birchmere

Available at the shows will be an exclusive, limited edition EP entitled Colin Meloy Sings Trad. Arr. Shirley Collins which finds Mr. Meloy covering 6 traditional songs first introduced Mr. Meloy by Ms. Shirley Collins, one of the most important members of the British folk movement of the 50's and 60's. Track listing is as follows:

1. Dance to Your Daddy
2. Barbara Allen
3. Charlie
4. Cherry Tree Carol
5. Just as the Tide Was Flowing
6. Turpin Hero
