Self-Titled Debut Out August 19th via Glassnote Records

NEW YORK, NY (June 9, 2008) – Glassnote Records announces the self-titled debut by EVERLEA, Kingston, Ontario's best-kept secret, to be released August 19th. Songs from the upcoming album can be streamed on the band's MySpace page: www.myspace.com/everlea

After forming in high school, Everlea self produced and released an album, selling nearly 3,000 copies before signing with Glassnote in 2007. The band immediately headed to Salad Days studio in Baltimore with producer Brian McTernan (Senses Fail, Thrice, Circa Survive) to perfect their sincere and heartfelt melodic rock hybrid sound.

"We're all huge fans of so many albums that Brian had produced, so his was the first name that came to mind when we had to pick a producer," comments vocalist/guitarist Justin Dube. "Working with him was one of the best experiences we've had as a band, and at our first meeting he made us feel welcome in his studio. He has an enthusiasm that's contagious... he's all about P.M.A (Positive Mental Attitude)."

The thirteen tracks document the transition between old and new relationships, as well as the frustration and conflict that go along with it. "I was dealing with the feelings that I'm sure many people who are going from their teens to twenties deal with. The relationships I had formed in my teen years were ending and I was beginning new ones. I wanted to move forward but I was anchored in the past and wasn't completely ready to let go," Dube admits.

The band has shared the stage with Canadian heavy weights such as Silverstein, Alexisonfire, Tokyo Police Club, Attack In Black, Bedouin Sound Clash and Social Code, to name a few, and have also played the 10th Anniversay S.C.E.N.E. Festival and Bedlam Society's 4-Year Anniversary Party in Toronto. The band was also named a "National Pick" at NYC's M.E.A.N.Y. Fest, of which the Fest's President Denise Gerardi says "When we listened to Everlea's debut we were completely blown away. Their songs are hook-laden yet complex, and they reminded us of Jimmy Eat World. We enthusiastically made them our international pick with their M.E.A.N.Y fest debut."

Everlea is also involved in the Shirts For A Cure (SFAC) project, alongside Chiodos, Paramore, Say Anything and Hawthorne Heights. An exclusive Everlea t-shirt design is available for purchase on the SFAC merch website here.

All proceeds from SFAC are used to help women fight breast cancer.

Recently Clear Channel Radio's IHeartMusic.com named Everlea as an Alternative "NEW!, Artist To Watch".

June 19 – New York, NY @ Arlene's Grocery
