Since the year 2000, FLATFOOT 56 have steadily unleashed a rollicking barrage of Celtic punk and folk-tinged hardcore from the South Side of Chicago to an international audience with intense and positive party-like energy. The band's latest album, JUNGLE OF THE MIDWEST SEA, tightly packs the quartet's eclectic and driving musical charge into fourteen tracks that celebrate the pride of the working class and their Chicago roots.

To add to their always in-progress and non-stop tour schedule, FLATFOOT 56 have announced a string of dates supporting Street Dogs this fall. FLATFOOT 56 join the tour on September 16 in Jacksonville, Florida and will bring the band's live intensity to the East coast, Midwest and Southwest through October 19 (confirmed dates and details follow while additional dates will be announced soon).

"Our live show is a blur of speed, camaraderie, and comedy," explains front man Tobin Bawinkel. "We really try to create a positive environment every time we play so people feel comfortable and can let loose. It's an experience that everyone is a part of."

That live experience also includes an improvised set list, an array of seamless instrument juggling (from guitar to mandolin and bagpipes and back around again), an awe inspiring crowd participation "wall of death" mosh pit while showcasing the band's grab bag of musical influences from Oi! and punk to folk and traditional Irish Celtic sounds.

Tobin and company – which include Tobin's brothers Justin and Kyle, along with multi-instrumentalist Josh Robieson – have already brought live highlights from FLATFOOT 56 to the masses this year including several live appearances at Cornerstone Music Festival, Milwaukee Summerfest, and stints overseas in England, Japan, and soon-to-be Germany and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the gang continues on in the midst of their own string of national dates that includes an upcoming appearance at Soul Fest in Guilford, NH on July 31 as well as a run with Everybody Out! in August.
