Las Vegas, NV - The Circus is in town!—March 11 th is the official kick-off of the International Ska Circus (ISC), as presented by Jefferies-Phebus. Furthering the spirit of the Ska Summit of 2003 at Desert Breeze Skate Park (which was wildly successful, drawing more than 10,000 fans), the ISC concept brings together ska, reggae, and punk artists from around the globe for a celebration of these oft-elusive styles. The Circus will make its American debut appearance in Las Vegas after sold out European jaunts in London and Prague.
While bringing together legendary acts like The Skatalites (originators of the 60's sound), Reel Big Fish (current champions of the new wave) and The Toasters (2-tone stalwarts with 4500+ concerts under their belts), the festival also throws open doors to rising talent. Bands like Boston 's WestBound Train and California 's Debonaires will be joined by the Latin sounds of La Banda Skalavera. With the ska-punk aspect of Suburban Legends, and the mania of L.A.'s classic Fishbone , Skeletones and Voodoo Glow Skulls (not to mention a celebrity bowling tournament) thrown into the mix and you have a bit of a diverse event!
This landmark event will be held at the Clark County Amphitheatre, a 3,000 capacity grass haven in downtown Las Vegas.
The "Official Pre-Party" for the ISC will feature drink specials, contests with event sponsors and performances throughout the night by Voodoo Glowskulls, Goldfish Don't Bounce, The Super Pineapples and special surprise guests on Friday, March 10 th at Jillian's of Las Vegas (which will Include a Celebrity Bowling Tournament amongst participating bands).
