On this most joyous of days, the benevolent overlords of Suburban Home Records have seen fit to bestow upon the masses a complete stream of the new Ninja Gun album, "Restless Rubes," available today on PunkNews.org.
In a practically unfathomable gesture of charity, they have also arranged for PunkNews to give away 200 copies of the album for free via YouSendIt.
The fun doesn't stop there, as tonight between 8-10 PM EST Punk Radiocast will be running a contest to give away a huge stash of Ninja Gun loot, including a copy of the CD and a copy of the colored vinyl.
"Restless Rubes" will be released July 29th, 2008 on Suburban Home Records on CD, iTunes, and colored vinyl.
Ninja Gun has just returned to their home of Valdosta, GA after a five-week tour of the entire United States. Owner of Suburban Home Records, Virgil Dickerson, had this to say about the band after hanging with them on tour. "After having spent a week with Ninja Gun while they toured through Colorado, I think that they are one of the greatest unknown bands on the planet (as well as some of the most genuinely nice people). I feel so lucky to be able to work with them and think that if people take a chance on the record and the band's live show, they will find a place as one our most beloved bands."
Ninja Gun are from South Georgia, but their home away from home is Gainesville, Florida. Although they share a lot of the qualities of the Gainesville scene, they have more in common with a past Gainesville resident, Tom Petty. Ninja Gun write concise, melodic pop which blends the best of Americana, Southern Classic Rock, and Indie Rock, with a slight Punk influence.
They previously released the album "Smooth Transitions" on Barracuda Sound.
