Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

Toots and the Maytals have canceled a lot of tour dates due to the asshole throwing a bottle at Toots in Richmond, VA, and one of the shows they had to back out of was the reggae & R&B fest in Queens, NY, Groovin In the Park. But Steel Pulse have been added in their place! The fest will be on June 30th at Roy Wilkins Park and feature Patti Labelle, TGT (Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese), Sanchez, Barrington Levy and Queen Ifrica.

The award-winning and globally-acclaimed British band Steel Pulse has officially been added to the star-studded line-up for New York City’s R&B and reggae music festival, Groovin In The Park. Steel Pulse will be joining Patti LaBelle, TGT (Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese), Sanchez, Barrington Levy and Queen Ifrica for this annual one-day concert held on Sunday June 30 at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens.

Over the weekend, NY1 News spoke with Christopher Roberts, the festival’s founder, to give Queens a sneak peak of what is in store: http://www.ny1.com/content/183827/patti-labelle-among-performers-slated-for-2013–groovin–concert

Steel Pulse will be filling in for Toots & The Maytals, who unfortunately had to withdraw from the line-up due to the lead singer Toots Hibbert’s continuing medical issues. Mr. Hibbert was reportedly hit in the head with a vodka bottle on May 19 at his show in Richmond, Virginia. The injury has led Toots to cancel all remaining summer tour dates. “This unavoidable decision was made by Toots’ medical team as it has been determined that any performances at this time could seriously compromise his health and well-being,” according to a statement from Toots Hibbert’s management team. Despite these circumstances, Steel Pulse has come on board to spread their iconic music to the masses.
