New York, NY – Fresh off a tour with Flogging Molly, Street Dogs are set to release their new album Back To The World on January 25, 2005. The album will be the first release on their new punk rock imprint, Brass Tacks Records.
On Back to the World, the follow-up to their acclaimed debut Savin Hill, the Street Dogs deliver catchy melodies with anthemic and angst driven lyrics with songs like “Tale of Mass Deception,” “Strike A Blow,” and “You Alone.” Another key track, “In Defense Of Dorchester,” has already been WBCN’s Boston Song of the Week and is receiving airplay on WFNX. Other stations already on board include KRXQ in Sacramento, WAVF Charleston, KPNT St. Louis, KTCL Denver, KXRK Salt Lake City and Y100 Philadelphia.
The Street Dogs story begins in 1999 when original Dropkick Murphys’ frontman Mike McColgan shocked fans by leaving the band to pursue his dream of serving his community as a Boston firefighter. Even after spending three years as a full time fireman, Mike never lost his love for music, so in 2002 he recruited bassist Johnny Rioux (The Bruisers, Roger Miret and The Disasters), drummer Joe Sirois (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones), and Marcus Hollar, a 22 year old ripping guitarist from Dallas, and the Street Dogs were complete.
