Sorry Folks, No Image Is Here.

“We love to tour in the States. It actually feels like our second home,” says THE SOUNDS guitarist Felix Rodriguez excited, about their upcoming headlining national tour – their first in two years. “We can’t wait to get back!” Coming to North America in support of their latest album Something To Die For, these Swedish indie rock/dance gods will be kicking off their 2011 tour with support from Natalia Kills and The Limousines. DJs Kids At the Bar will be spinning in between the sets to add to the celebratory party atmosphere. “Our shows are energy, just pure energy,” he continues about their live shows. “We have the best fans and it really triggers us when we see our crowd go nuts. That makes us play better. They make us play better”

The tour will go on presale Wednesday, August 31 at 10am EST with a limited amount of tickets directly from The Sounds at www.the-sounds.com and www.facebook.com/thesounds. For an additional $10 added to the presale ticket, fans will be able to purchase a special “bundle” which will include the following digital downloads:

Independently produced, their latest album Something To Die For has been garnering great reviews. NYLON called the album, “electro beats, thumping dance numbers, and highpowered melodies, all meshed into one totally awesome package. It’s different, it’s fun, and it’s undeniably cool.” The Aquarian said the album “doesn’t have a weak track on it and all the songs blend well with each other. Lyrically and instrumentally they are all powerful tracks…. in a word: Wonderful!” Blast! Magazine praises, “Something to Die For, their fourth album and strongest to date, represents a true evolution in The Sounds’, well, sound… is The Sounds’ most life-affirming record to date.” From songs like the futuristic and militaristic rat-a-tat dance beat of “Dance With the Devil” (and its accompanying fast and exciting video) to the pure rock-pop rave-up “The No No Song” to the staccato strings of New Wave-esque title track “Something to Die For”, the album mostly has frenetic dance on its mind. The more emotional tracks like the plaintive electro-fueled thump of “Better Off Dead” and the acoustic ballad “Wish You Were Here” expose a vulnerable and naked side of lead vocalist Maja Ivarsson, a side that truly showcases the band’s ability to not only write great dance tracks but also massage the tender side as well.

“We’ll probably tour for another year on this album, and then go home to write new songs,” Felix concludes, looking ahead. “It’s on tour we collect ideas and get inspired to write. So once this tour is done, we’ll probably start working in the studio and then… out again on the road!”
