Salient Media brings multiple Emmy Award-winner Eddie Izzard’s long-awaited Live from Wembley special to DVD on November 3, 2009. Filmed during his sold-out world tour, Live from Wembley will first air on EPIX in early October. The hour-long special serves up Izzard at his inimitable best.
Izzard transcends labels as his stream-of-consciousness stories chock-full of evolving characters in increasingly absurd situations captivate audiences. Recognized for his role in Oceans 12 and Producing and starring in FX’s “The Riches,” only Izzard’s intelligent improvisational style is capable of seamlessly weaving together such disparate topics as the Greek Gods and Medusa’s hairstylist, similarities between transvestites and superheroes and the plight of rabbit-chasing greyhounds.
Salient has had a hand is some of the biggest comedic DVD releases in history including those of Katt Williams and most recently Kevin Nealon and Mike Epps. As for his take on taking a piece of the world tour and making it available for his global fan base, Izzard said, “I have always sought out new and innovative means for sharing my work with my audience.” Additionally, EPIX will air a 90 minute documentary chronicling Izzard’s life journey, culminating with the moment he bursts on stage at the legendary Wembley show.

Eddie is amazing. I was so excited for this to be released and love every second of it. It’s hilarious and captivating. Everyone needs to see this!
So happy this has finally come out! This guy almost never records his shows, so this DVD will be a rare find for those lucky to get it. “Dress To Kill” on HBO put him on the map in the beginning, but he’s been performing on streets and in clubs since the mid-nineties. Really a longstanding talent and epically crazy!
You guys are really hammering in the street team stuff huh? haha
Definitely recommend this for fans of comedy. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this set. Some parts do seem a bit long but it’s still hilarious and worth watching. I definitely agree that this is some of his best work.
Loving the clips I’ve seen so far – I can’t wait to go out & buy the DVD! Kinda bummed to see his tour won’t be coming to Baltimore though…
haha My favorite has got to be Pavlov’s Experiments. “Day six, cat rang bell. I ate food.” Dvd is awesome. Gotta check it out for sure. :D
Eddie is great! He can make even the most mundane subject hilarious and he does look pretty good in a dress.
