The Walking Dead gets renewed for a second season!

In what is the most un-shocking news this week, AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead has already got picked up for a second season! After getting stellar ratings on it’s Halloween premiere, the show was picked up for another season and I couldn’t be happier. I can tolerate zombie shows/movies in small doses and during the day since I’m a pussy but this is an excellent series. Frank Darabont has created something unique and special I think. 2 episodes in, I’m already loving it! It’s a mixture of Jericho, The Road, and of course every zombie movie you can think of. Check it out if you can stomach it.

The Walking Dead is coming back for a 13-episode second season.

The drama series, toplined by Andrew Lincoln, has broken ratings records, with the show reaching more viewers in the 18-49 demo than any other cable TV show.

The Walking Dead’s series premiere on Halloween drew 5.3 million total viewers and Sunday’s “gutsy” episode took in 4.7 million — that’s an incredibly high retention of a record rating and surely made this pickup an easy decision for AMC.
