New Joey Ramone CD “…Ya Know?” being played at Joey Ramone Birthday Bash. No Hologram though.

This year’s Joey Ramone’s Birthday Bash is set to be held on Saturday, May 19th at the Studio @ Webster Hall. In anticipation of the forthcoming posthumous new Joey Ramone CD, “…ya know?,” the event will culminate in a live performance of the entire album in advance of its actual release. The set will feature a band of renowned punk musicians, led by Ramone’s brother Mickey Leigh. No word if Hologram Joey will make an appearance or not.

You can file this under NOT April Fools’ Day news. Rolling Stone broke the news about Tom Gabel coming out as transgender and will undergo a sex change. He/She will be known as Laura Jane Grace and be still married to wife Heather. Why change to Laura Jane Grace when you can make things easy and just be called Tammy Gabel? Just have to change to o; you can probably even just scrape out your driving license to make it look like an a. Tom is incredibly brave for coming out to do this, but wonder how Against Me will sound now. Maybe if you have some vinyl of Against Me and sped up the record, you can get a good idea?

So-Cal alternative rockers The Dirty Heads have announced the initial run for their co-headlining summer tour with Matisyahu. The band will be spreading their signature rock/reggae/hip-hop sound that that is synonymous with its good vibes on this 40 plus city US jaunt beginning in Washington, DC on July 8th. Fans can visit the band’s website and Facebook page for ticket information and the latest updates on additional tour dates. Tickets go on sale beginning May 11th. The band’s long-awaited new album, Cabin By The Sea will be globally released on Five Seven Music on June 19th and can be described as the “ultimate summer soundtrack.” The album features collaborations with fellow tour mate Matisyahu as well as Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani Marley and Rome.

American Reunion was out in theaters in April and in a few months you can own it already. Why bother going to see movies when they are released this quickly? I don’t mind it since I find it hard to get to the movies nowadays anyway. I haven’t seen this yet but looking forward to it since it features the original cast and I liked the other, true movies.
