Although not familiar with him or his work, singer/songwriter Roger Harvey is a local boy and hails from Pittsburgh, PA. Dandelion Snow is his current project and was produced by Chris #2 of Anti-Flag.

“The Grand Scheme of Things” is a mix of alternative folk rock with some country influence. Although the album starts off with a solid album opener in the title track “The Grand Scheme of Things” that manages to prep you for a fun rowdy journey, the rest of the album fizzles out quickly and never manages to pick up from that point on.

Musically the sound is bland and pretty much your run-of-the-mill acoustic rock. Lyrically, Mr.Harvey has some very insightful and romantic lyrics and thoughts on life. Together the two just don’t seem to mesh. In its entirety the albums just doesn’t pique any of my musical interests.

Bottom Line: “The Grand Scheme of Things” starts off grand…and burns out quickly.
