Back with their tenth studio album, “Strictly Roots,” Morgan Heritage return as the “Royal Family of Reggae.” As the title suggests, the band plays a Roots Reggae, and if the veteran band made up of siblings, have any say are back with a vengeance. While not all just Roots in terms of music but also as a family. Stronger than ever, “Strictly Roots,” is one of Morgan Heritage best records to date!

Featuring a slew of friends and guest performers on this record, Morgan Heritage really pulled out all the stops. Shaggy, Jo Mersa Marley, Chronixx, and Rebelution to name a few, were guests on the record. Not to mention, the group has released this album on their own label (Cool To Be Conscious) Music Group, which many artists and groups are doing now to earn artistic freedom and distribution.

Listening to this record for a few weeks now, it’s been on repeat ever since! The last album of Morgan Heritage that I enjoyed this much was “Three in One” in 2003. Sure, others have been released since and are good in their own right, but with “Strictly Roots,” I found I loved every single track. The singles of “Perform & Done,” and “So Amazing.” will be on all summer long. “So Amazing” is just that. A Summer Anthem, I hope the band considers to push this for radio & social media as Spring and Summer are ramping up now. The masses need to enjoy this one! It’s also great to see the next wave of family members coming through the Morgan family. Gramp’s son Jemere guested on the record and also is opening for their shows on their current tour. The family roots continue to spread and grow and it’s not any different with Morgan Heritage and their father Derrick Morgan as well. Family traditions that live on and will continue to do so especially with fantastic albums like this.

Bottom Line: Why are you still reading this? Go out and get this record already!
