Parenthood is based off the 1989 movie, directed by Ron Howard and starring Steve Martin. This is the second time Parenthood has been attempted as a TV series but seems to be working so far. This soundtrack features music from popular indie & folk artists, as well as Bob Dylan.
Dylan’s “Forever Young” track is the theme song and is the first track on this compilation. It’s a great song for a theme song and it’s a fitting it’s the first track. Other artists and bands included on this compilation are: Brett Dennen, Amos Lee, Avett Brothers, Eels, Josh Ritter, The Swell Season, Wilco and Ray LaMontagne. Quite a soundtrack if you ask me! Even if you haven’t seen Parenthood, this is a nice soundtrack to own. I know I haven’t even seen the show yet but after listening to the music from the first season, it makes me want to go out and see it now.
Bottom Line: Awesome compilation!
