I would imagine the next best thing to not seeing Bad Company live would be seeing this Bad Company: Live At Wembley Blu-Ray. Bad Company are one of the greatest classic rock supergroups and I was really looking forward to seeing this concert Blu-Ray and it doesn’t disappoint!

This concert was held at London’s Wembley Arena in April 2010 and the band is in top form! Bad Company performs all their hits as well as some rare tunes you might not have heard they play in a long time. The concert starts off with “Can’t Get Enough” for a few minutes, and then goes into “Honey Child.” Between those two songs, it feels like 10 minutes went by.

“Run with a Pack” and a particularly nice rendition of Burning Sky“ soon followed. Besides “Can’t Get Enough,” I felt like they saved the best for later on in the set and that’s true. I always liked “Seagull” and Paul Rodgers certainly brings out the best for that tune. The highlight for me was seeing them play “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Shooting Star,” and “Rock And Roll Fantasy.” After all these years, Paul Rodgers and company still know how to rock out!

I saw Bad Company in 2009 at Bethel Woods and this set seems very similar. I quite enjoyed the live show, and just amazed how much Paul Rodgers still knows how to rock. You know a lead singer knows what he’s doing just by the way he handles the mic stand. Rodgers picks that thing up, twirls it around, brings it to the crowd to sing into it. Besides Rodgers, I noticed the bassist Lynn Sorensen jamming out and getting into it. The rest of the guys just kind of sit there and play their music. If you decide to get the Blu-Ray, you’ll be happy with the quality. Both the video and the audio are crisp as could be. So there’s really no need to stand in line, sit next to other idiots that might spill beer on you, or annoying people that will stand up in front of you so you can’t see the stage….unless you like that sort of thing.
