Stuff like the sharing of confidential info doesn't just make me cringe it makes me insane! It tends to make me dismiss the whole book. I have to say I agree with you, too, about the story being interesting. I knew very little about Noetic Science and I found that very interesting indeed. Brown mentions "The Intention Experiment by Lynne McTaggart, and the whole idea of the power of group thought. I did a little research from that and have found it extremely intriguing -- she studies the power our minds have to make physical changes and the power behind a group holding one thought. She recently wrote a blog entry about the power of the group beyond mob rule which had a great line at the end about how, just because you're a Repubilcan you don't get to behave badly to a Democrat. I love political web sites, as well as book ones, so that made me laugh. I'd say there's bad behavior on both sides these days!

Anyway, very interesting stuff in the book, though I'd also agree with the bottom line here.
