Alice Cooper’s ’80s albums reissued on Collectors’ Choice

news_1209_alicecooper_albums
Three of Alice Coopers’ 80s albums will be reissued on Collector’s Choice. Those albums are Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin and Dada. Back in the 80s when I was a huge Alice Cooper fan, I managed to get the rare albums of the time Zipper Catches Skin and Dada. I always remembered the funny intro to the album of Zipper Catches Skin. I also remember the weirdness of Dada, especially with the song “Enough’s Enough.” I’d like to check out these albums to see how they have held up over the years. Press release is after the jump:

Video: Don “No Soul” Simmons

news_1109_donnosoulsimmons
Do any of you remember Amazon Women on the Moon from the early 80s? John Landis directed the movie and it was filled with lots of actors that you’ll recognize. Besides the opening skit with Arsenio Hall, the David Alan Grier skits as Don “No Soul” Simmons was always a highlight for me. Watch a montage of his best moments from the movie below:

Madness has been playing bouncy 2-tone pop music for over 30 years now and they show no signs of slowing down. Their latest album “The Liberty Of Norton Folgate” is fantastic and I highly recommend everyone checking it out! To help celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary, they released yet another best-of CD (including a DVD) featuring all their hit singles overseas. You don’t realize how many great singles the band has until you hear them all together on one album.

Spaceballs- Blu-Ray Edition

Starring: Rick Moranis, Mel Brooks, John Candy, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, Joan Rivers, Dick Van Patten, George Wyner
Directed By: Mel Brooks
Written By: Mel Brooks, Thomas Meehan, Ronny Graham
Studio: MGM/UA

The Mel Brooks sci fi classic, Spaceballs is on Blu-Ray for the first time, and like other editions, you want to have this one as well. Starring Bill Pullman, Rick Moranis and John Candy in this hysterical take on the Sci Fi genre with spoofs of Star Trek, Star Wars and Flash Gordon to name a few. Mel Brooks strikes gold with everything he works on and this film was no different. Yeah, some of the jokes are a little dated but this film still cracks me the hell up.
