Many punk rock musicians and singers (i.e. Tony, Joey Cape, Nikola Sarcevic) strip things down and do a bare bones solo album. Many of them do it acoustically, which I don’t mind since I like that music as well. Tony Sly has been the frontman for No Use For A Name for about 20 years now and shows no signs of slowing down. To break up the norm, he does acoustic folk albums like this one, “12 Song Program.”

Coffee Project finishes new album “Moved On”


Coffee Project have just finished tracking their self-produced new album entitled Moved On, which will be on Paper + Plastick. The album will come out in late Spring time. Coffee Project is friends Buddy Schaub (Less Than Jake) and Jake Crown (Rehasher), so you gotta get the album just because of that factor! The band tracked eleven songs at Schaub’s home studio and is currently mixing at Roger Lima (Less Than Jake/Rehasher) Moat House Studios.

Tony Sly


You might know Tony Sly; he’s the singer of No Use For A Name and has been doing that since the late 80s. Now he has a full-length solo album out on Fat Wreck Chords called “12 Song Program.” That album comes out February 16th, 2010! Jesse Malin signs with Side One Dummy

New York punk singer/songwriter Jesse Malin has signed with Side One Dummy Records. Recently finishing sold-out U.S. dates with The Gaslight Anthem, he is currently recording his new solo album with producer Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, Flogging Molly) at Sonic Youth’s Think Tank Studio in Hoboken, NJ.
