Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers and Carbon Leaf – Bowery Ballroom, NYC
Date: November 28th 2009
For the last 3 years, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers have played New York City on Thanksgiving weekend. I decided to check out their show since one of my favorite bands was opening for them, Carbon Leaf. The bands played over 2 nights at Bowery Ballroom. I wasn’t going to dare New York City traffic on Black Friday so I decided to attend the Saturday show instead. Of course there was still some traffic on the George Washington Bridge (like usual).

Stellastarr* playing some US shows
Stellastarr* is headed back on the road this fall, crisscrossing the country and playing small club shows from Boston to LA, as well as New York’s Bowery Ballroom, the site of many past renowned stellastarr* gigs. Athlete releasing The Getaway EP on November 3rd
Mercury-nominated UK songsmiths Athlete are releasing The Getaway, a brand new digital EP, on November 3rd. The EP’s titular track will be the lead single from the band’s fourth album Black Swan, due out in America early next year. Also on November 3rd, the band will be playing a one-off gig at Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
