The weather gods were on our sides yesterday at the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The weather was perfect, hot at times; thankfully clouds came over in the afternoon. This year was the 15th anniversary for the Vans Warped Tour which featured punk veterans Bad Religion, NOFX, Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake, Anti-Flag, and a bunch of other bands that scream.

This was the first time I’ve approached the new NOFX album as a fan instead of just a reviewer. After seeing the band on Backstage Passport, I decided to finally give NOFX a shot. “Coaster” was released back in April on Fat Wreck Chords and I think it’s a lot better than their previous album “Wolves in Wolves’ Clothing.” That album had some great tunes on it, but I prefer “Coaster” as of right now. NOFX has been around for 25 years, yet show no signs of slowing down!

NOFX: Backstage Passport was a documentary TV series that aired on FUSE for 8 episodes. The result is an extremely entertaining look at the band’s ventures or misadventures traveling to countries they never played in before. I wasn’t really a fan of NOFX but this series made me become one.
