Fearless Records announces Punk Goes Classic Rock

Fearless Records is proud to announce the list of bands, artwork and tracklisting for Punk Goes Classic Rock. I find it both funny and ironic that they call these CD series “Punk” when none of these bands are punk, or even pop punk for that matter. But whatever, the kids will love this crap. I think I’ll prefer listening to the original songs, as oppose to a bunch of guys with dopey haircuts and in girl jeans ruining classic rock songs.

Castevet – Subterranean Chicago, IL

Date: January 20th, 2010
Band Link: www.myspace.com/romancastevet
Less than a year after releasing their Summer Fences EP, Castevet headlined their record release show for The Echo & The Light at Subterranean last weekend. Taking the stage after midnight, the group displayed an explosive combination of indie, emo, punk, and instrumental. It’s almost as if the group single handedly picked the best element from their favorite bands and magically placed them into their songs.

Warped Tour adds more bands to lineup. Still not impressed.

If you can’t tell, I’m not impressed with this year’s lineup for the Warped Tour. The tour added more bands to the lineup, while some of them are great bands, they are only playing selective dates. Out of the bunch, Face to Face is about the only great band in there that’s playing the whole tour. Left Alone is also playing the whole tour but they aren’t in Face to Face’s class. Other bands that are playing on selective dates are: Agent Orange, Angry Samoans, Fear, Dickies, Green Jello, and The Bouncing Souls. Only problem there are only playing on certain dates. Unless I’m super bored and have nothing to do, I will not be going to Warped Tour this year. Check out the confirmed bands below:

Alternative Press announces full AP Tour lineup…yawn

You know there’s not a lot to talk about when I’m posting news from a few days ago, and about a tour that I could care less about. But I guess some readers of ReadJunk.com might like to see this tour so why not post the news on the bands playing. The bands playing the AP Tour 2010 are Never Shout Never, Hey Monday, The Cab, Summer Set and Every Avenue. Read the press release below, if you give a shit:

Vans Warped Tour 2010 announces their shitty lineup

news_1209_warpedtour2010
It has been debatable whether the Warped Tour has been worth going to since the start of the tour. This year looks like I might finally bow out and not attend. I usually like going just for the hell of it and to take pictures. But why bother taking photos of 3 or 4 bands that I might like when the rest of the lineup stinks? Looks like Kevin Lyman and the Warped Tour are catering to the kiddies again and not offering any older, and might I add better bands to the lineup. Where’s the Fat Wreck style bands? Some ska bands but not a lot. No veteran Warped Tour acts really besides 1 or 2. Out of that line up, I like Reel Big Fish, Deal’s Gone Bad, Sum 41 (a stretch) and The Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band. Maybe throw in 1 or 2 more bands in there? I don’t want to attend this, even when the tickets are FREE! This isn’t worth taking off of work for that’s for damn sure. See the crappy lineup below:
