The Golden Globes aired on NBC (Nothing But Crap) last night, and the award show was hosted by Ricky Gervais. He was very funny, as usual, and glad he finally hosted an awards show! I’ve been saying that for years that he needed to host one of those award shows. Since Golden Globes doesn’t really have a host, he was very under-used. His jokes about Paul McCartney and Mel Gibson were particularly great! Avatar was the big winner of the night, winning Best Picture and Best Director. That shocked me because I didn’t think people would vote for that. I thought Hurt Locker or Up in the Air were going to clean up last night.

Yesterday MySpace exclusively revealed the soundtrack listing for the highly anticipated film Alice in Wonderland. Curious to hear the soundtrack but I’m also curious to hear the film score from Danny Elfman! Gotta love when Elfman and Burton collaborate! The music from the fantasy adventure includes Franz Ferdinand, Avril Lavigne, The All-American Rejects, Owl City, Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz, Wolfmother and many more popular artists. Alice in Wonderland stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover. The film is directed by Tim Burton and will be released in theaters on March 5. Can’t wait to see this in 3D!

Don’t like Netflix? Well here’s another reason to dislike the service and Warner Bros. If you’re waiting to check out the newest releases from Warner Brothers, you’ll have to wait a month later to get them (28 days to be exact). Warner Brothers is doing this to increase sales of the DVDs. I’m sure other movie studios will be following in WB’s footsteps in no time if this turns out to be fruitful for WB. I really don’t like this move and don’t think it’s gonna make a difference. A bad movie is a bad movie and people still won’t buy something if the movie sucks. but I guess we’ll find out how this all plays out.

The teaser trailer for Iron Man 2 premiered on Apple.com last night. The trailer is everything I expected it to be, and I simply can’t wait for Iron Man 2 this summer! You see Tony Shark showing off like he’s know to do, you get to see Whiplash spoil Tony’s fun, Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and at the end..War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Iron Man shooting away. Very cool!

The Golden Globes nominations were announced this morning. Like usual, nothing too shocking. Maybe that LOST wasn’t nominated for Best Drama again could be a shocker, considering that’s one of the best shows on TV right now. Lovely Bones didn’t get nominated, District 9 only got nominated for Best Screenplay but Avatar gets nominated for bunch of stuff? I guess the HFPA has to suck up to James Cameron. Modern Family was nominated so that was cool, I love that show. Up in the Air had the most movie noms with 6 but I think the Hurt Locker is the movie to watch out for this Awards season. Check out the full nomination list below:
