
This summer has been an exciting time for Glasvegas. The band was nominated for the coveted Mercury Prize, toured with rock legends U2, had a somewhat missing front man, are back in the U.S. for dates with Kings of Leon and today they will release the video for their second U.S. single “It’s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry.” Check out the new video and the rest of the tour dates for the band’s tour after the jump.

I did not do much planning for Lolla this year. Having attended since it’s re-inception in 2005, I decided to just pick out a few key bands and go with the flow for the most part. I’m glad I did because this was truly one of the best fests, which is saying a lot. Every year, Lolla gets a little bigger and one truly gets bogged down by day two. Unfortunately, I’ve missed a few great performances in the past due to impromptu naps. And I usually end my days with, “I’m never coming back. This is my last year doing this.” And every year Perry Farrell and co. have a knack for luring me back with their artist line-up. This year my key choices were Lou Reed. One thing I’ve learned about Lolla is that nothing turns out as you plan.

After two magical shows in the U.S., one at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas and the second at a Cemetery in Los Angeles, Glasvegas will make a triumphant return to the states to join the Kings of Leon on their U.S. Tour for 12 dates starting September 9th in Connecticut and ending their leg on September 26th in Milwaukee. Glasvegas will also be headlining a handful of U.S. dates leading up to their appearance at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival.

The lineup for the giant UK festival, Glastonbury Festival was announced earlier today. The festival is happening June 24th to 28th in Worthy Farm, Pilton, UK. Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Blur will be the big headliners. Monday night, Bryan and I were in the city for Glasvegas’ Webster Hall show, and the band did not disappoint! Signed by Sony/Columbia, Glasvegas are currently on tour in the US in support of their self-titled debut release, and have already spawned two popular singles, “Geraldine,” and “Daddy’s Gone.”

Glasvegas, a band I first heard about while watching David Letterman and I’m really glad I tuned in because I love this band’s new record. They are on tour in the states this month and next month so check them out live. I might see if I can grab some last minute tickets.
