Joe Sib presents “California Calling” on Feb 10th to benefit Doctors Without Borders
Joe Sib co-owner of independent label Side One Dummy Records will bring his “broken word” show California Calling to Largo (366 N. LaCienega) in Los Angeles on Wednesday, February 10th. California Calling is a night of stories from Joe Sib covering his obsession and love of skateboarding and punk rock. Joe Sib does his entire show in front of photographs from punk photographers Murray Bowles, Edward Culver, and Lisa Johnson.

Rock To Roll 2009 Charity Event happening in San Francisco on December 3rd
The fourth annual Rock To Roll charity event spearheaded by SideOneDummy Co-Founder Joe Sib is happening this year at Slim’s in San Francisco, CA on Thursday December 3, 2009. The event will directly benefit the non-profit organization UCP Wheels For Humanity. Headlining the event this year is NOFX. The night will also feature performances from Wax, Dead to Me and Nathen Maxwell & The Original Bunny Gang.

WAX opening for Weezer on October 24th
Newly-reformed punk rock band WAX announced today that the band will open Weezer’s show at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 24. All members of the original WAX line-up are on-board for the show, including Joe Sib, Tom “Soda” Gardocki, Dave Georgeff, and Loomis Fall.

WAX reunite for Chicago’s “Riot Fest” in October
WAX released their debut album, What Else Can We Do in 1992 on Caroline Records. The album was recorded in two weeks by Ramones/White Zombie producer Daniel Rey. In 1995, WAX followed up with 13 Unlucky Numbers which featured the famous “guy on fire” video by Spike Jonze for the song “California” which MTV banned from daytime airplay.

Joe Sib (owner of SideOneDummy) joins 98.7 FM for Punk Show
L.A.’s famed and only dedicated Punk Rock radio show, “Complete Control Radio” hosted by the show’s founder, Joe Sib, is coming to 98-7fm. Complete Control Radio’s playlist consists of everything from Old School Punk like, The Ramones, The Clash and Buzzcocks, to up-and-coming bands like, Dead To Me, The Gaslight Anthem and The Riverboat Gamblers. Sib, started the show in 2004, and to date, Complete Control Radio is on the air now in seven cities including Los Angeles, Austin, Portland, San Jose, Denver, Ames Iowa and Sarasota Florida.
