It’s no secret the Levellers are one of my favorite bands. Their previous album “Letters From The Underground” was fantastic and brought back a bit of their aggro folk punk selves from earlier years. I’m happy to say Static On The Airwaves is just as awesome but in a different way.
2010 is quickly ending and it was quite an interesting year. I got engaged, I’m about to move to Jersey City and things have just been busy all year round. This year in music and movie was okay, with better music coming out than movies I think. At least in terms of music that I like. This list below might not be as long as my usual Year in Review list but that’s okay, I think I covered everything I need to. Check out my lists below:

As a way of documenting their November tour and highlighting the re-release of “A Weapon Called The Word, ” The Levellers are making a daily video blog. It’s a great way to go behind the scenes with the band and see what they are up to, see interviews, see them goofing off, see them growing mustaches for charity and so on..Watch a few of the videos below, but be sure to watch all of them at www.youtube.com/levellers.
It was only a matter of time for Mark Chadwick, frontman of The Levellers, to release his own album. Mark has been a very successful musician in the UK, many of his songs have been in the Top 20. Not like that means anything really in the end but it’s just something nice to say you accomplished I guess. All The Pieces showcases Mark’s signature singing & song-writing with acoustic folk/pop tunes that any Levellers fan will appreciate.

Nearly three years has passed when I last saw The Levellers perform and it has been far too long. My wife and I traveled to London during the holidays, and of course planned part of the vacation so we can catch The Levellers play at our familiar London stomping ground, Shepherd’s Bush Empire. A great venue in West London, that has a fun vibe to it and powerful sound. As usual, The Levellers were outstanding and did not disappoint.
It’s no secret that the Levellers is my favorite band. While I can’t cross the pond to go see them perform all the time, the next best thing is either their live DVDs or CDs. In this case, Live at Royal Albert Hall is a brand new live album, recorded at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London. The album is available through the band’s fanclub, or you can purchase a download version at iTunes internationally (yes it’s available on US iTunes as well)!
The Levellers are back with their 9th full-length release and I have to say, it’s probably their best album since Zeitgeist! The Levellers are one of my favorite bands and I have been looking forward to this release since Truth and Lies. While I liked that album a lot, I didn’t really like the production of it. It sounded like the producer cranked up all the volume settings and forgot to lower them when called for. This time around, they get help from Sean Lakeman and the album’s production is much better! There are 11 tracks in total and it was recorded at the band’s own studio, Metway Studios.
