Bim Skala Bim – “Chet’s Last Call”

Record Label: BiB Records
Genre: Ska

It’s been thirteen long years since the last official release from these Boston ska legends. That’s definitely way too long in my opinion, but “Chet’s Last Call” is absolutely worth the wait.

Quebec’s Amnesia Rockfest lineup is insane!

If There’s a festival I would drive 7 hours to, this might be in it! Quebec’s Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, Canada will be held on June 14th-15th and the lineup has been announced. Unlike Warped Tour where I want to see bands that I can count on just 1 hand, I need several hands for all the bands I want to see at this festival!

Bryan’s Year In Review 2011

2011 was a great year for me personally. Got married, went to Paris for our Honeymoon, and moved to Jersey city. 2011 was also great in music and movies as well but think 2012 will be even better with movies. The Hobbit, Dark Knight Rises and the Avengers! Wowza! In 2012, Punk Other Junk will be 15 years old! The site is still going (not strongly haha, but still going). I’ll also be starting a new web venture that I’m looking forward to starting but I’ll talk more about in the upcoming months. For now, see what I liked/disliked of 2011! Happy New Year Folks!

Mighty Mighty Bosstones – “The Magic of Youth”

Record Label: Big Rig Records
Genre: Ska
Band Link:
Buy on

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones’ ninth album proves that the band still has what it takes to make an excellent ska album! “The Magic of Youth” is more in lined with their previous album “Pin Points and Gin Joints” than their very early stuff. Honestly, I’m fine with that since I really liked “Pin Points and Gin Joints.” With their last two albums, the band has gone back to their ska roots and have made some catchy, solid skankable tunes!
