Sam Raimi is back making horror flicks, something he was born to do. He hasn’t done a horror movie since the Evil Dead movies. Since he has a few more movies under his belt, I’m sure this is ten times better than what he started out making. Drag Me To Hell is about a loan officer who turns down a loan, and gets cursed in the process. If she doesn’t pass along the curse, she gets sent to Hell. So this is family film then?

The latest shoot ‘em up movie is Gamer, starring Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall. The movie was directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who have done Crank and Crank: High Voltage. So you can expect more of the same with high-paced action, and outrageous storylines. I haven’t seen the movie but I’m sure it’s an enjoyable flick that doesn’t make you think too much.

Year One is the latest comedy from Harold Ramis and Judd Apatow. The film stars Jack Black and Michael Cera as Zed and Oh. The two tribesmen travel on a journey through Biblical times and encounter a bunch of people like Abraham, Adam and Eve and other people like that. Based on the trailer, it doesn’t look that funny but I might give the film a shot when it comes out on DVD.

While She Was Out is a horror thriller flick starring Kim Basinger. Wow, haven’t heard her name in awhile. She plays a housewife who writes a note on a car that parked like an idiot at the mall. When she leaves the mall at night, the car that she left the note ends up harassing her. They end up killing the mall cop trying to help her and plan on raping her. She flees to a forest and the gang of men goes after her. So it’s a family movie then?

Martian Child was a 2007 drama/comedy film that starred John Cusack. Of course it’s 2009 and I have yet to see the movie or listen to the score. The film is about a man adopting a young boy after losing his wife. The young boy thinks he’s from Mars, so is the kid’s name Mork?
