Singer Tim Armstrong (Rancid) and director John Roecker (live freaky! Die freaky!) Team up again for a new web series called Svengali. I don’t know about you, but maybe Tim should just stick to music no? Man this looks pretty crappy, even if it’s not being taken seriously. You can watch the trailer here to see what I mean.

The Golden Globes nominations were announced this morning. Like usual, nothing too shocking. Maybe that LOST wasn’t nominated for Best Drama again could be a shocker, considering that’s one of the best shows on TV right now. Lovely Bones didn’t get nominated, District 9 only got nominated for Best Screenplay but Avatar gets nominated for bunch of stuff? I guess the HFPA has to suck up to James Cameron. Modern Family was nominated so that was cool, I love that show. Up in the Air had the most movie noms with 6 but I think the Hurt Locker is the movie to watch out for this Awards season. Check out the full nomination list below:

Here at ReadJunk.com, we’re all fun and games most of the time but sometimes we need to get a little bit serious for a minute. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize that the economy is awful right now. My girlfriend Kristen graduated from grad school last year and has been looking for a job since. She graduated grad school with a degree in Journalism and has been looking in the marketing/journalism fields. She’s interested in journalism, copywriting, editing, assistant, administrative assistant, and marketing coordinator positions in the New York City/New Jersey area.

Actress Farrah Fawcett has passed away of cancer at the age of 62. The documentary Farrah’s Story, aired on TV recently and it was about Fawcett’s battle with anal cancer for 3 years. Farrah Fawcett is most known for her role Jill Monroe on Charlie’s Angels. Besides Charlie’s Angels, she has appeared or starred in The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, Margaret Bourke-White, Logan’s Run, and The Cannonball Run. She’s also known for her gorgeous blond hairstyle that lots of women copied. I didn’t see too many of her movies or TV shows but I definitely remember her from Cannonball Run. She’ll be missed!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are making a comeback to the big screen, this time it will be in live action form (again). The Mirage Group is moving forward with a live-action film focusing on the origins of the iconic crime fighters. Last year or so, a CGI TMNT movie came out but from what I saw, I didn’t like it. The 5th live action TMNT movie is set to come out in 2011. I wonder if Vanilla Ice will come back as well and make another appearance? GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!

Jackie Earle Hale (Bad News Bears, Watchmen) has been picked to star as the legendary villain in New Line’s re-do, re-imagined, remake, etc. of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street.’ Well I couldn’t think of a more creepier looking actor to play Freddie. Maybe they don’t need to use much makeup?
